I don't know what I've done
Or if I like what I've begun
But something told me to run
And honey you know me it's all or none

There were sounds in my head
Little voices whispering
That I should go and this should end
Oh and I found myself listening

'Cos I don't know who I am, who I am without you
All I know is that I should
And I don't know if I could stand another hand upon you
All I know is that I should
'Cos she will love you more than I could
She who dares to stand where I stood

See I thought love was black and white
That it was wrong or it was right
But you ain't leaving without a fight
And I think I am just as torn inside

'Cos I don't know who I am, who I am without you
All I know is that I should
And I don't know if I could stand another hand upon you
All I know is that I should
'Cos she will love you more than I could
She who dares to stand where I stood

And I won't be far from where you are if ever you should call
You meant more to me than anyone I ever loved at all
But you taught me how to trust myself and so I say to you
This is what I have to do

'Cos I don't know who I am, who I am without you
All I know is that I should
And I don't know if I could stand another hand upon you
All I know is that I should
'Cos she will love you more than I could
She who dares to stand where I stood
Oh, she who dares to stand where I stood

Her voice sounds just like Fiona Apple. Similar style. I have not hear the rest of the album.

(unrelated to this)  I've noticed that when one singer gets rocketed up to the top of the pop charts, that suddenly all the other female singers start sounding like her....I mean specifically Adele.

I also immediately thought "Fiona Apple" as well. I would like to hear more of both artists.
To enjoy this song you need to draw a nice warm bubble bath, have a nice glass of wine, and have zero taste in music.
Sorry, but to me she (and her song) sounds like a less-characterful Sarah McLachlan.

Perhaps, but she is the one who wore a pair of panties on her head on stage when I saw her.............then she auctioned them.

How creepy would it be if I say I'd have paid serious money for them?

is she the same one that had the "I'm not going to write you a love song" radio hit?

Very Nice Track..video is cool
Sounds like a much better Taylor Swift.
C'est pas mal du tout !

Yuk, reminds me of the appalling musak in Marks and Spencers.

I think the Aussie Sarah McLaughlin is spot on.  Great voice.

I have to agree.  I give Missy a 10.  Never tire of her soft voice and slight yet intriguing accent.
More please!

One of the myriad of reasons that I love RP - so many tracks where you just have to click and find out more! {#Notworthy}  Lovely voice.
...there's something very endearing about the way she chews on her vowels...
first heard it hear, gets better with time

Agreed.
There's a fine line between heartfelt emotion and mawkish shmaltz.
This one falls into the former category.
Me likey!{#Biggrin}
VERY-VERY NICE!
Aussie Sarah MacLaughlan!
This is becoming one of my favorite songs. Repeated listenings seem to just make it better at this point.

very sweet, female and lovely!

Makes me think....

PS

Just see that all three words - sweet, female and lovely - had been used

by previous posters on the last page only! Of course I hadn't seen any of it,

when posting. Shall anybody say I am not mainstream!

PPS

Missy H is an Aussie singer/songwriter, I learned on google!

And sweet she is. Hmmm...!!!

This one always make me stop what I'm doing and listen.

Yes, I hear that as well. I do enjoy this song, nonetheless.

I think thats because she has that female "Indie" sound.
Sweet

Never heard this here before. I was thinking about uploading it.

beautiful...goodnight RP....always moving me
Lovely, if derivative.{#Guitarist}
I was perusing my cd rack last night & saw this cd on a shelf. Funny, I don't even remember buying it. Listened to it on my long commute in this morning. It's a lovely album. Glad I 're'discovered it :)
Wow, I thought this was Fiona Apple.  Nice.

yep
not a fan of female vocalists as a norm...but i kind of liked this. not sure i could take much more of it, though. this was good.
When this first took off I was thinking "A Sorta Fairytale" cover. Then listened to that and back to this and now I see why Tori's all over this genre.

For my part I find her voice (both here singing voice and songwriting 'voice') unnique and distinctive.  Fantastic.

Not her best work - but I still give her an A+
Suzanne Vega + Anna Nalick

Not bad, though I first thought it was Alanis whats her name.

She is Plodding, reason is I suppose is that she is shoe-less .

whiny
There are far better Missy Higgins songs and in my opinion most of them are from the first album.  Love the cactus that found the beat in particular.

Yes, this is a great album.  I have it.  I love Missy.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Bill.  You "got" my message.  I love this song more than I
"can stand."  You rock!  Missy Higgins may not sing anything like this ever again, but it's
worth another spin.  I {#Group-hug} you.

I like her voice.
Nice Aussie act.
I like this so far...
Pleasant enough, in a Fiona Apple Lite kind of way.
Definitely not making my ears bleed.
Decent voice but a bit plodding.
