When that storm comes, don't run for cover,
When that storm comes, don't run for cover,
When that storm comes, don't run for cover,
Don't run from the coming storm, no there ain't no use in running.

When that rain falls, let it wash away,
When that rain falls, let it wash away,
When that rain falls, let it wash away,
Let it wash away, that falling rain, the tears and the troubles.

When those lights flash, and you hear that thunder roar,
When those lights flash, and you hear that thunder roar,
When those lights flash, and you hear that thunder roar,
Will you listen to that thunder roar and let your spirits soar.

When that love calls, open up your door,
When that love calls, open up your door,
When that love calls, open up your door,

You gotta stand on up and let it in, you gotta let love through your door.

*Instrumental interlude*

When that storm comes, don't run for cover,
When that storm comes, don't run for cover,
When that storm comes, don't run for cover,
Don't run from the coming storm, 'cause it can't keep a storm from coming.

Storm comes, (storm comin', yeah), don't run for cover,
When that storm comes, don't run for cover,
When that storm comes, (storm comin', yeah), don't run for cover,
No, don't run from the coming storm, 'cause it can't keep a storm from coming.
(It can't keep a storm from coming.) *x8*

One of the best concerts I attended last year, here in Greenville, SC. Gunter theater was the perfect venue; voices were chrystal clear!!

Wow!!! Loved it - A capella?!!!

I'm blown away....
Is it by intention to be near to Waylon "Waymore" Jennings? I'm feeling that way -
what a whining ..
"(It can't keep a storm from coming.) *x8*." I could have sworn it was *x800*.
Props to the production efforts on this album, the cuts I've heard here are always GOOD sounding and the songs are great and I like..LLRP!!
I'm not a fan but this one is really really special

DARN!!! I thought you were trying to make want to believe that The Jenny's were the sirens!!! Well, it was nice to watch this any way https://youtu.be/_dl2L4v6ecM?t...

Absolutely! Gorgeous and haunting vocal textures.
They can make their three voices sound like 4 or 5. I've seen them perform a few times, and I swear I hear more vocal parts going than there are vocalists on the stage. Stunning.
Seems an appropriate song as hurricane Florence hits the East Coast of the US today....
I get a good laugh from opening this page and discovering that at some time I actually rated this a '2'. Boy I must have been having a bad day.

And I'll raise you 1...this is one of the few songs I've rated a 10 in the years Ive been listened to RP.  LOVE these gals.   Saw them in concert a number of years ago...great show.

Yeah this is great with women's harmony and laconic music

Ah, this evening's Mid-Atlantic weather forecast.
This song sends chills down the back of my spine.{#Umbrella}
might I suggest an alternative, the 2009 album/cd "No Fool For Trying" by Madison Violet
Just go see 'em live. It all comes together.
These ladies are awesome!

Very pure, very beautiful.
First impressions are long lasting.....I'll be listening for a very long time.
Wow. This. Is. So. Good.

I've seen these ladies a few times. As a singer, I unconsciously sing along, searching for an unsung third or fourth part, and, even tho there are only three of them, I can't find any unsung parts. Interesting comment - thank you!

Totally agree :))
Enjoying this track this morning from sunny Halifax as we kill some time in the hotel before heading over to our daughter's home for a holiday dinner. Long way from home, but RP makes it seem like home no matter where we are. Thanks, Rebecca, Bill.
these ladies are astonishing. i've seen them live a few times, i am in awe of the complexity of their three voices intertwining.

These are some really submissive lyrics. These girls should stop propagating misogynist stereotypes.

Referring to them as "girls" and then complaining about misogyny is ironic, don't you think?

There's a difference between gospel style music and "Christian dogma."  I believe this falls into the former.  Beautiful song.

Oh the organ sound is a beaut! Harmonies are a beaut too! My ears need a cigarette or two!
Been hearing a storm coming for a while. It got here pretty much when this song started.  Makes a great song even better!

Perhaps it is because Ruth Moody used to be in the Duhks and is one of the founding members of the Jennys?

In fact, Ruth Moody (one of the Wailin' Jennys) used to be in The Duhks.  Now, the original Duhks fiddle player backs up the Jennys.

Oh dear, the PSD song was shorter than this one, so I had to hear the last 20 obnoxious seconds. I don't know why, but I sincerely hate this song :)
Love her voice, she's got soul. I hear some of both Allison Krause and Emmylou in there, interesting that the previous poster thought this was a piece they were both in.

For once I disagree with the majority here.

I find the group rather appropriately named. Wailing. Tedious. Writing 8 bars of music and repeating them with the exact same vocal harmonies for an eternity. RP plays two tracks from this album, and both of them would be dangerous for me to listen to while driving.

I really like this, is it the same song from the Siren scene in "Brother Where Art Thou?"
They are just as good live. If you get the chance, go and see them!
