My lover lays me down inside the garden soil.
We rest our heads upon the breast of world's unknown.
We stare into the skies, then watch them come alive.
We stare into our eyes, never turn our heads.
My lover lays me down beside the bed so soft.
We watched the feathers rise, and determined where they'll fall.
We stare into the walls and watch them disappear.
Into the ceilings tall, til they're no longer here.

We gaze into the stars, bodies on the ground.
Our minds and hearts [still leave],
Become part of the skies.
Now we can go and live forever.
And if we die today at least we'll know the secret.

If you don't have anything nice to say...

I've I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain, where 4 legged elephants turn into 5 legged elephants with only the addition of a cow which is in estrus.

First listen - Love this.  How's the rest of the CD?

Stellar
Reminds me of the Smiths song: "Oh mother, I can feel, the soil falling over my head". Similarly cheery.

 I agree

I have a weakness for arpeggiated guitar chords, so this gets an 8 for that without even considering its other merits. (I know: simplistic.)

No, Magic!  It is what draws me to most of the music I love.

"My lover lays me down inside the garden soil" - almost as cheery as the (in)famous Smiths song I Know It's Over: "Oh mother, I can feel, the soil falling over my head". I think you have to be in a certain mood to enjoy either, ideally not depressed... {#Think}
I am starting to wonder if violins are on their way back, to actually usurping the guitar and assuming their former glory in music.
Some say Leland is actually an Elephant.
Wow.... straight to itunes to acquire this highly original and exceptionally well produced track.
RP is proving to be both an enlightening and expensive evening diversion!
Eager to hear the rest of the album can maintain this standard.

Ho Hum.
Bonnie Paine is beautiful to listen to and to look at, I photographed her at a recent concert in Utah;

I also posted shots and a review of their show on my concert photography site here:https://gonzoshots.com/archives/8719

Vocals sound a bit Avett Brothers. Any group that sounds a bit like both of those is good.

Agreed. I like what I've heard from all 3 of these bands here on RP.
This song is beyond beautiful....
