Is there anybody going to listen to my story
All about the girl who came to stay?
She's the kind of girl
You want so much it makes you sorry
Still you don't regret a single day
Ah, girl
Girl, girl

When I think of all the times
I've tried so hard to leave her
She will turn to me and start to cry
And she promises the Earth to me
And I believe her
After all this time I don't know why
Ah, girl
Girl, girl

(Tit-tit-tit-tit tit-tit-tit-tit)
She's the kind of girl who puts you down
(Tit-tit-tit-tit)
When friends are there (tit-tit-tit-tit)
You feel a fool (tit-tit-tit-tit tit-tit-tit-tit)
(Tit-tit-tit-tit tit-tit-tit-tit)
When you say she's looking good (tit-tit-tit-tit tit-tit-tit-tit)
She acts as if it's understood (tit-tit-tit-tit tit-tit-tit-tit)
She's cool (tit-tit-tit-tit)
Ooh (tit-tit-tit-tit)
Ooh (tit-tit-tit-tit)
Ooh (tit-tit-tit-tit)
Girl
Girl, girl

Was she told when she was young
That pain would lead to pleasure?
Did she understand it when they said
That a man must break his back
To earn his day of leisure?
Will she still believe it when he's dead?
Ah, girl
Girl, girl

Ah, girl
Girl, girl

First Beatles song I heard at the age of 5 in Communist Poland. My parents bought the album while spending their honey moon in Western Europe.
Everybody in my mushrooming multitude of churches be slow-dancing buck ass naked all across the holy moly world like bowlegged gypsy muleskinners and B.F. Skinner...  we love this splendiferous song...  love this great classic album...  love sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll...

I don't know just what you mean z, I'm no beatle fan but this song is working it's little magic on me, and I would say that even if I was told Ringo wrote it (or Yoko)

There's an undeniably strong sentimental feeling to this song. The fact that its John's tune makes it pliable today. Had it been Paul's...it would be difficult to digest.

Memories of my sisters and I, standing on chairs playing our yardstick guitars! The oldest always got to be John..
Hard to listen to this without being distracted by them sucking on that joint.

The Liverpudlian influence can be heard in the line:  "a man must break his back to earn his day of leisure."  Beautiful song!

Beautiful, beautifully crafted, timeless.

I have always loved the Beatles' music, (this song in particular) and I believe I understand the point you are making, but with all due respect, your analogy is not really a valid one.  The astronomical details you cite in your last sentence are facts - established through scientific methods.  Liking or disliking a particular artist is a matter of personal aesthetics, not a matter of verifiable science.  Perhaps some listeners who were not born while The Beatles existed don't "get" them, especially if hearing their 40+ year-old, 4-track recordings compared to today's ultra-technical recordings, (though I know some people in their 50's and 60's who never thought much of The Fab Four either).  Statistical and/or critical data will seldom "convert" anyone when it comes to matters of taste.  Just because other peoples' tastes may vary from yours, or those of the masses, doesn't mean those people are delusional.

Music is taste, so that's not a very good argument.  If you can tell me why somebody would like a low fidelity recording with all of the (screechy) vocals on one side, then I'm open to attempt at understanding.

Obviously your too young to understand, timing is everything and at the time they came out they influenced culture, ideas, song writing, television not to mention music. It is the path that music, recording and MTV had to take to get to where it is today. Like them or not the music you like is a direct result of what the Beatles pulled of in the studio and on film.

The most perfect part of your comment is that Billy Graham was a close personal adviser to Dick Nixon during both his terms, especially when Nixon was suffering from cognitive dissonance caused by the conflict of Nixon being raised as a Quaker and bombing third world people in Cambodia "into the stone age".

I don't know if Nixon should have been tripping, but I don't think it could have made matters worse if the assh*le had been a "head". {#Chillpill} {#Cowboy}

Kim drinks a liter of George V cognac a day, and is also very likely a chronic heroin addict.  As Dr. Hunter S. Thompson was fond of saying, "When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro." You're going to have to do better than Kim, for your example.
