He looks like me
But not so haunted
Eyes like the sea
In storm
In torment
How can a body so frail
Contain this spirit
This creature I see

We're taking an avalanche
And lifting it up again
I've been high enough
To get to where I wanna go (ooh)
And living another day
Won't keep me out of touch
I'll find you some day
Got to get you out of this somehow I know

He looks right through me
So unprotected
His only legacy
Returned
Rejected
So young so free
So old and ridden
Oh what you see

We're taking an avalanche
And lifting it up again
I've been high enough
To get to where I wanna go (ooh)
And living another day
Won't keep me out of touch
I'll find you some day
Got to get you out of this somehow I know

He's nothing like me
So wrong and wretched
Your safe reality
Is living in sketches
And live out happiness
With no explanation
And peer out at the world

We're taking an avalanche
And lifting it up again
I've been high enough
To get to where I wanna go (ooh)
And living another day
Won't keep me out of touch
I'll find you some day
Got to get you out of this somehow I know

(He looks like me
But not so haunted
Eyes like the sea
In storm
In torment
How can a body so frail
Contain this spirit
This creature I see)

Wow, I gave this a 5 previously, no idea what I was thinking. What a moody, gorgeous punch.
Very Good vibe
I love her voice, and the music.
Has someone said this before me? This is why I listen to RP!
Never heard of them! Only on RP! Sound good and 'she' looks great! Yes, I am gay!

I don't get 'spooky' from this song at all - I love it!  Starts off sounding like Cure instrumentals then gets so much more powerful than Robert Smith on a bad day...  the vocals remind me more of Grace Slick - just because of the type of singing, not so much the sound itself...

The sound in the beginning really reminds me of Simply Red.
what a natural, unaffected voice... makes a change - JUST SAYIN
very nice...different

Welsh singer—that explains the gorgeous voice

The Welsh and Dutch seem to have something in the waters.
Shades of Alison Moyet...
Title reminds me of  "Shotgun Down the Avalanche" by Shawn Colvin...
15 out of 10.
The mor I hear this tune, the more I like it!!  Thank You RP!
Excellent!!   I never heard of them before.  Thank You RP!
This is fantastic.  Droning, dark earworm.  I love it, and want to know more.
I would love to know what exactly the tone ladder is, maybe hypo-doric?

Good Stuff..  this one has a modern Jefferson Airplane vibe ...

Almost certainly,  also Zero 7, Massive Attack, Vienna Teng and chuck in a bit of M People and top off with a big old helping of Eurythmics, too.

Great influences make for a great band.
Wonder if Kosheen influenced some of London Grammar's work?
nice!

Exactly. For several notes. Luckily, from a plagaristicalism standpoint, the similarity doesn't continue.
Industrial-ish and I love it
Good vibe but goes on too long on one level; needs more dynamics.  Solid 8 though.

Nice song, nice music video !!

I guess The Guardian didn’t like it so much. I wish they’d say what they really think
Welsh singer—that explains the gorgeous voice

Makes sense indeed. Thanx dude.

Reminds me of the old prog or space rock band, Hawkwind.
very cool
Very different, very sci-fi synth-styled; quite a surprise... Interesting group — Welsh singer, Japanese, Chinese, and Native American names and symbols. Cool!
yeah i like it a lot

This clicks with me immediately.. First few strums of the bass riff and I had to find my phone to score it.. Finding I'd already scored it an 8 then it justifies a comment!

I don't think they intended for this song to "go anywhere" - it's a song, not a schooner.  Many "electronic" and "trance" type artists deliberately avoid the standard conventions and formulas of composition - it's often more about a groove and a mood than it is about creating a conventional melodic "composition", I guess that's what you're referring to by calling it "too linear".  Bridges, choruses, and other components are not mandatory, nor should they be, though this does have verses and a chorus.
this is the Kosheen I remember https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWa9LZ4Ob-4 {#Dancingbanana_2}

still, this is real nice too.
This is relentless. Nice......
Another first for me on RP.
Great song. I'm starting this at 7, and that's conservative. Tremendously atmospheric, I love that back beat and lyric refrain. One of those tracks I could listen to 20 times in a row and not get bored.

Wonderful on first listen!
I have 3 Kokopelli images in my house, so I must needs like this.
Love me some Kosheen.  Local Bristol band too.  We have got some great stuff from our neck of the woods.
*EXCELLENT*
More songs like this, please! {#Cool}
Agree! Was listening while working on my email and had to turn it up.

Yep, I'll second that. Creepy power, right enough, which grabs you by the fear centres and doesn't let go. And what a voice! Once again, RP brings us another band I'll guess few of us would have heard, or even heard of, otherwise. 9 from the creeped-out Nottingham jury.

funny timing hearing this right after watching a pair of episodes where the TARDIS was nearly incinerated.
Good tune
I thought at once..."A new Silver Pesos song!"

Very Portishead.

Love!

Not a bad song!
Wow, for a second I thought that Bill had finally found a Carly Simon song he liked.

This song kind of grows on you.  In a good way.
"Inspired by Stevie Nicks' solo career" should not be a permissible reason to be signed to a label.

This makes three of us. 7 -> 8 as my fear centers send my mouse cursor scurrying with anxiety (but it's a fun kind of anxiety!) to the drop-down ratings menu....

It's cool how the song has a spooky ambiance to it, but lyrically it kind of wanders around and gets lost in the avalanche...  I will leave it unrated...  hmmmm...

if only the lyrics were as fresh and original as the music...

never heard it before, but love it
got a little bit of a tanita tikaram vibe to it.....Ancient Heart
Thought this was Carly Simon.

I really like this.  She's got a sort of Carly Simon feel to her voice.

Damn, I like this better than my Kokopelli flute player sculture, now I've got to go hunting.

Quite a good intro. She started singing and i thought, why? ...Then her voice expanded a nice vocal range and i dig it. I give her thumbs up!
Oh myyyy, what an awesome voice. I hate coming late to the Kosheen party but I'm so glad you played this song so I could discover them. Thanks cubed!

Nicely chosen.

I must just be in the mood for Queen, because I have my speakers turned down and her vocals sound like Freddy Mercury's... I'm sure that once I hear it again, I'll fwap myself in disbelief and get my train back on track...

Sian Evans... a very distinct, and beautiful voice.

...this is pretty interesting - that swooping bass line makes a nice contrast against the vocals...

Interesting song, but I thought it was Annie Lennox at first.
