Almost certainly,  also Zero 7, Massive Attack, Vienna Teng and chuck in a bit of M People and top off with a big old helping of Eurythmics, too.

I don't think they intended for this song to "go anywhere" - it's a song, not a schooner.  Many "electronic" and "trance" type artists deliberately avoid the standard conventions and formulas of composition - it's often more about a groove and a mood than it is about creating a conventional melodic "composition", I guess that's what you're referring to by calling it "too linear".  Bridges, choruses, and other components are not mandatory, nor should they be, though this does have verses and a chorus.

Another first for me on RP. 
Great song. I'm starting this at 7, and that's conservative. Tremendously atmospheric, I love that back beat and lyric refrain. One of those tracks I could listen to 20 times in a row and not get bored.

It's cool how the song has a spooky ambiance to it, but lyrically it kind of wanders around and gets lost in the avalanche...  I will leave it unrated...  hmmmm...

if only the lyrics were as fresh and original as the music...
