This light at the end of the day
When even the highways seem still
The map in my hands folded shut

There isn't one magical word
But a carnival of them instead
Like an old silent cinema screen

And in this light you are framed classically
Just a painting that hangs in my head
That I know like the back of my hand

With the sunset the neon awakes
And the cold colours dance on your skin
And finally the modern makes sense... to me

You're effortless you know you are and all I want to do
Is let you lead me off into the dusk

Our shadows kiss before we do and right here in the dark
I revel in the calm before the storm

The garden is haunted by us
And every mistake that we've made
Is at peace cause it lead us both here

The thought that just burns into me
Of you in the ink of the night
Is the breathtaking danger of you

You're effortless you know you are and all I want to do
Is let you lead me off into the dusk

Our shadows kiss before we do and right here in the dark
I revel in the calm before the storm

This is life, this is all I want from life
It's the fervour and the tenderness combined

In the dark, in the ever-falling dark
We are anchorless adrift but barely notice

Come on. Tell us all what Gary Lightbody ever did to you to piss you off....

{#Roflol} (& Black Sabbath, on occasion.) Yah, this is a bit precious.

I'm aching, gagging no less, for a third chord on that guitar. C'mon, guy, you can do it - even the punks managed three chords. I'm trying to stay awake here, but my eyelids are drooping and dopamine is falling... {#Sleep}

(crash) Sorry, fell off my chair there. Must go get some caffeine to counter this lullaby.
Think I need to make some coffee....
Hmm, I thought I recognized the voice.
I like snow patrol but this song just isn't jiving with me really. Gave it a 6. It's not bad persay but just kinda...meh.
^ I wrote the above like 10 mins ago. How long is this song exactly?

tiring

I just made up a new adage for it:  "Pulling a Fogerty."

You had me until the "non music" quote. Let's see; there's drums, piano, a guitar and vocals. Yep, I think that there be music.

At least the band name tells you exactly what to expect...
don't understand having an outside project to make music that sounds just like your regular band
Music to go to sleep by.  It's nice, but not what I need at 7:30 am on a Friday.
. . . off to the knackers yard with you. I hope you have more use as glue. 1

Great album!
Quite likable.

Very nice! The whole album is quite good.

Pendejo is the appropriate moniker for el stingray

Oh my...!
This pony goes on my nerves!
Don't understand the harsh words about this tune. Though it's not exceptional...it's harmless and mellow. Well produced and nicely arranged. Why must everyone need PUNCH, ENERGY and OOMPH? It's a bit repetitious...but whatever.

I must concur.{#Yes}

Sounds like Elbow on valium and I didn't think that was possible!{#Sleep}

Sounds almost just like "Flightless Bird, American Mouth."
I've been hearing a lot of Tired Pony lately. I like it.

I don't wanna hear this either. But I'll tell you what I really want see though: you growing old (in pain is optional if I am feeling Stingrayish that day)...nothing personal, perhaps then, there might be a thin, slim, slender possibility that you encounter the word empathy. Pendejo.
A friend of mine told my i should listen to this CD, even though he knows i don't like Snow Patrol. So... i listened to the CD several times but no....

The songs which aren't sung by Gary i do like but the one by Gary, no.... There's way too much Snow Patrol for me in there, it doesn't bring anything new.

It seems they were shooting for a highly influenced-by-country album but they say it turned out more of an Americana album......... No.... Not really.... By the way, if you ask me, this is one of the worst songs on the album, there are a couple of songs which are way better...

I'm hoping to hear it again, when the cats are jailed and life isn't so tossed into the bupkiss-file.  Whatever that means.

From AMG:
Formed by Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody as an outlet for his fascination with country music, Tired Pony began taking shape in May 2009. By October, the solo project had grown into a full-fledged supergroup featuring another Snow Patrol veteran, Iain Archer, his wife Miriam Kaufmann, producer/musician Jacknife Lee, Belle & Sebastian percussionist Richard Colburn, auxiliary R.E.M. member Scott McCaughey, and Troy Stewart. Peter Buck joined several months later, and Tired Pony traveled to Portland in early 2010 to record the a debut album. Featuring guest appearances by Zooey Deschanel, M. Ward, and Editors frontman Tom Smith, The Place We Ran From was finished in one week and released later that year.
They were on Letterman's show about a month back, did another song (better than this one) called "Dead American Writers"

Lame.
Good Sunday morning music ... newspaper, coffee, in front of the fire ... {#Meditate}

yes this is a little tired alright.............  {#Yawn}    rather hear Snow Patrol

this is all too cute, too sanitized
Bill just said it's the Snow Patrol singer. But, yeah, he and the song sound pretty tired.

just what the world needs — a snow patrol knockoff

This pony does seem a bit tired...{#Whistle} Not bad but not amazing, imo.

Great cover - very tired pony!

This is what you get, when you pray to the gods
of "PREFAB SPROUT",
knowing you can never get there!

Bill just mentioned that it was a side project of SP.
It's nice. But as noted previously here, lacks "something" for me. Not sure what. But "something".
Really beautiful song.
