Outside
A yellow moon gives away the night
To morning sun that watches us,
You lay your hand in mine
It's good, so good
Feel the starving light of this day
Can't you?
We know it's good

Over the cities under the stars
Through the volcano surf a river of fire
Hunting with tigers in the grass in the fields
Surfing on rainbows climbing the trees
Winter is never...

Grown up
Haunting me, I've punched a hole in time
On the run, forever from
The whispered words of night
It's good, so good
Feel the starving light on your face
Can't you?
You know it's good

Comic book heroes, hula hoop girls
Pedal to metal, language of birds
Fire the rocket, your chemistry set
Holding on tight while winning a bet
Winter is never...

The eye of the wheel is fixed on you
Your war is fought out and chewed
Draw the curtains hear her sing
You know the song has wings
Winter is never...

I ditto the Marillion comment. Too bad they don't get any airplay on RP.
It be nice to hear Neverland once in a while.

William, that would be a nice segue. Winter Is Never to Neverland

From the Wikipedia entry:

Their music has been compared to A-ha, Radiohead, Marillion, and Porcupine Tree.[2]
I'm really beginning to grasp their sound. (2009) I know I'm late to the game, but there is so much excellent music on RP, it takes years to fully appreciate what I am hearing.-feeling. Most enjoyable !  Upside down is another favorite of mine.

A good gazpacho is a wonder.  The band is cool too - check out their song "Black Lily".

Marillion, huh? I guess so...I just keep hearing Freddie Mercury....not sure why...I wish the voices in my head would whisper...

My first association was Freddy Mercury, in his latter days.
But yes, there is some resemblance to Thom York, and the music fits.

The song is not nearly as good as either of them, though, but it sounds promising.
I vehemently disagree with cold soup as a concept, but this is pretty good. One of those songs I'd probably never buy, but which I'm happy to rate 8.
Still has sounds like a bit of Marillion post Fish to me..  But I like it..

With dogging being such a popular pastime these days, if you go down to the woods tonight you're sure of a big surprise :o)

cold tomato soup...
great.
Winter is never... a good time for gazpacho.

Gazapacho? Seriously? Someone thought that would make a great band name? What's next — Chicken Noodle?

That is disgusting, but at least you admit it.  Once you get by your irrational dislike of a song because the singer sounds a little bit like another brilliant singer you don't like, I think you'll find this is actually a pretty strong tune.

Ianmoff,

I agree with you. At first I thought it was Steve Hogarth on vocals. Still miss the early Marillion days with Fish however. His 13th Star CD has some good stuff as well. But I like these guys..

Very cool... and tasty!

This song's really growing on me, truly wintry and spare, and in that sense very Scandinavian :)
LOVE the piano in this one.....what a wonderful group that I've never heard of, too. Thanks RP.

I wouldn't mind betting they are named after the Marillion track Gazpacho - they sound very similar to current day Marillion as well.

No more Easter, Hooks In You, Script, Fugazi, Garden Party, Market Square Heroes, Grendel, Incommunicado, Sugar Mice . . .

Oh well

Kinda sounds like Muse lite. ....if you tilt your head a little and close one eye. I think it's the arpeggio piano riff.

Waiter, there's a fly in my Gazpacho...

grover

Nice song ... if the guy would stop singing. He sings terribly off-key.

I liked this—-the guy(?) sometimes sounded like Patti Smith!
Another great Norwegian band.
Yummmmm.  Gazpacho.

I certainly prefer this song to cold tomato soup :o)
I like the atmospheric melancholy of this piece very much!
Nice... a good 7.
