I love this song but what does it meeeeeen???  Is it an Armageddon song?  Is it a lost in the mountains song? Is it a breakup song? Is it a "wrote this while sitting in the sauna" song?  I don't get it, but I like it.

Nice tune, however, the overall riff and musicality is a pretty blatant rip off of Love & Rockets acoustic version of "It's All In My Mind" (by far the better version of that tune by the the way!).

Jim James, M. Ward, Conner Oberst and Mike Mogis are all brilliant and successful artists in their own right. No one played drums but they learned for this album, no one was an engineer but the did it anyway. This is pure and exquisite music making at it's finest. Monster of Folk are one of very few American Super groups, I can think of The Wilbury's as their only contemporary comparison.

Anyone else hear the poor mastering in this?  Just after "searching west and east"  there is a strumming that is very distorted.

I don't know much Japanese, but I do know "Unagi" means "eel", at least in a sushi context .  So maybe it's an ear eel. Like an ear worm except slimier, possibly electrified.

Oh, the song?  Don't much care for it, or for a group that calls themselves Monsters of Folk.

I thought this vocalist might be inspired by Oberst, but there wasn't enough vocal tremor to actually be him. I'm glad to be proven wrong, as I prefer this calmer version too.
