Oh river wide, older than time
Hold us inside, don't go dry
Dreamed, swam with you, ancient and new
Woke up and knew it was true

River's deep, the river's long and wide
No one ever reach the other side

Take off your skin, no more pretend
World without end, without end

Let that water wash away your name
In that water everyone the same
River's deep, the river's long and wide
No one ever reach the other side

Oh river wide, older than time
Hold us inside, don't go dry
Don't go dry

25 years listening to RP.
Never heard it before.

Silversun Pickups formed in 2000 and this song was released in 2008.
Not that it matters, but I always thought this was a guy singing.
For a second there I thought we were leading into KT Tunstall's "Golden Frames".

will check out the album on the strength of that tune - this one is fine but i prefer your recommendation - thanks!

FunnyIn Germany there is a city called Delmenhorst. So i had to smile about her name. But this song is good.

Totally DCFC!

Not really, other than that there are some minor chords in this song and in some of Death Cab's songs.  Completely different production styles.

Except they're creepy. This is good.

BillG - thanks for introducing me to this interesting artist

I listened and thought, "this guy is pretty good".  Then I read your comment and looked at the album cover, and looked at the name of Kris and said to myself, "Self, I'm pretty sure this is a guy, and maybe moon15116 is simply confused."   Then, by golly, I looked at the Wiki info and I guess I'm finally convinced that this is indeed a young lady.  Good song.   Unisex music.
Complex sound from the FLAC stream on a good sound system

Just what I was thinking, early Gomez.  That's a good thing!

Such an androgynous voice! I thought it was a guy singing. I blame SSPU for convincing me this is a male vocal range. :P
Just as I was thinking "This sounds like The other side by Breaks Co-op" he sang "the other side"

Is that the opposite of ACDC?
I had always thought that it was Exene Cervenka singing.
Totally DCFC!
Really nice - never heard of her or this tune but I like it!
420th rating {#Chillpill}{#Devil_pimp} sick song too

Thought the same thing.
Love it.
Bought this track based on one hearing-thanks!
Death Cab for Cutie's song, what was it? "I will posses your heart" that's it.
Well, now we know who the Silversun Pickups listened to quite a bit.

A real basement tape kind of sound here, which I really am liking! This one's going from 7 to 8.
...Sitting back in the big chair applying volume - 7+

So you're on the fence, then?  (Yah, I like it too.)

Channeling a little Son Volt ?
Hmmm ... another hearing and this may grow on me...
Nice and Good Music

Me too. That's a good thing, IMO.

To me she sounds like Brian Aubert.
Boy, this is annoying.

Kris' magic comes out during a live show.  I was lucky to catch her at Iota Cafe in Arlington VA, playing solo.  She was captivating, charming, and humble.
yeah, definitely really absolutely like this a lot.
{#Roflol}  Nice... sounds like they left the recording studio board on while working on a song

Really like the rawness of this.

Oooo - I like that description.  Dead-on.  I've heard this a few more times since my last post, so now I can confidently give it 8, with potential for a 9.

Haunting... Nice and easy... Like fine whiskey, slips up alongside you
Bill's on his game today!
I'm hearing a lot of Jim White in this. I like it, but I really thought that it was a new JW track.

I agree with Spooky. Be sure to spin this on the 31st along with all the other good stuff.

Okay - I like the spooky vocals and the groove. Maybe one more listen...
Nice segue from that new Robert Plant song!  virtually seamless!  {#Notworthy}
This is great!  I already bought it, too!
So cool it gives me shivers. Nice buildup.
Not for me.....
Keep hearing more of this Civil War-ish, washboard and tambourine trend: Black Prairie, Laura Marling, Vienna Teng, Some Say Leland, Old Ceremony...

Shotgun singer? Isn't that Kurt Cobain?

/I'll take an aisle seat please
//man is it getting hot in this handbasket or is it just me?
Very nice!
I like this. gonna check out some other tracks.

What a siren!
Interesting ... Thx for playing
It's new to me.

{#High-five} YES!

Kinda liking this one so far.  A little eerie-sounding, but in a good way.
Nice segue from the Pink Floyd song to this!

Ok, and it's not just me — I just heard Bill slip up...  I thought this artist sounded (and looked) like a guy too.  Not that it matters.  Surprised to see she has put out 5 albums since 2001, and this is the first I have heard of her.  Thanks RP.
I thought this was a new one from Silversun Pickups.
so nice to hear KD on here..."Songs for a Hurricane" and"5 Stories" have some great tracks as well
Sounds pretty decent upon first listen...
Nice and moody.  I like it.
