Oh my hand shakes steady and my words are sweet
And the whole world's lying here at my feet
Put your trust in me, put your trust in me

I rub my eyes and I catch my breath
I'm almost choking on the smell of success
Put your trust in me, put your trust in me

I get careless now and then
But I won't let you down again

I got x-ray eyes and with just one look
I can read your future like an open book
Put your trust in me, put your trust in me

I get careless now and then
But I won't let you down again

Oh my hand shakes steady and my words are sweet
And the whole world's lying here at my feet
Put your trust in me, put your trust in me

Put your trust in me

Put your trust in me

I keep hearing these GREAT David Byrne songs I've never heard before...wait...{#Embarassed}
My favorite song from this soundtrack album is Persuasion, which Tim Finn wrote the lyrics for many years later. Richard and his son used to perform it when they toured together.
Wow two complete dogs in a row.
I like this one!  Then again, I like Richard Thompson's music, anyway - when he's good, he's really good, and when he's bad, he's still pretty darned amazing.{#Bounce}

Well, things could be worse I think, right? {#Cheesygrin}

Crumbling mansions in VA or somewhere ....? obviously the dry rot has extended to your ears.  Not a favourite at all, but I suspect that Mr Thompson is one of those musicians musician who is lauded by his musical peers for technical ability, but shame he cannot catch and hold my attention for more than about 45 seconds in a song.  listen to some David Byrne and see/feel the difference.
Perhaps Mr. Thompson was not informed that the sole purpose of his long career was to "hold your attention for more than 45 seconds".  To each his own I guess.  That should not affect the ears of other listeners here though.

gave it a 6 ~ will probably go up the more I hear it ~ something very simple and catchy to it
I'm sorry,I like his son's music much more than his.

I actually thought you were serious until you mentioned David Bryne {#Lol}

I uploaded this because I was surprised that there were no songs off this sound track album that he did as yet here on RP. I'm glad this great song get accepted :)
