I saw a man on the side of the road
With a sign that read "will work for food"
Try to look busy until the light turns green

Now, I saw a bear on T.V.
And his friends were all drowning
Because their homes were turning to water
A strange kinda sad big, old bear and
I'm sure he would happily eat me
He'd tear me to pieces out there

Wake up, you sleepyhead, I think the Sun's a little brighter today
Smile and watch the icicles melt away and see the water rising
Summer's here to stay, and all those summer games will last forever
Go down to the shore, kick off your shoes
Dive in the empty ocean

Tell me everything will be OK
If I just stay on my knees and keep praying
Believing in something
Tell me everything is all taken care of
By those qualified to take care of it all

Wake up, you sleepyhead, I think the Sun's a little brighter today
Smile and watch the icicles melt away and see the water rising
Summer's here to stay, and that sweet summer breeze will blow forever
Go down to the shore, kick off your shoes
Dive in the empty ocean

One day you think we'll wake up
In a world on its way to getting better
And if so can you tell me how?

I have been thinking that lately the blood is increasing
The tourniquet's not keeping hold in spite of our twisting
Though we would like to believe, we are
We are not in control
Though we would love to believe

Wake up, you sleepyhead, I think the Sun's a little brighter today
Smile and watch the icicles melt away and see the water's rising
Summer's here to stay, and those sweet summer girls will dance forever
Go down to the shore, kick off your shoes
Dive in the empty ocean

RP could use a lot less Dave Matthews, along with David Byrne, David Bowie and Peter Gabriel. MUTE
"Wake up sleepyhead" - ok, then play something zippy enough to wake me up, not to put me into catatonia. More musical Mogadon {#Sleep}
Not the best DMB song, but still - clearly a DMB song. Thunbs up.
Just not feeling it on this one - to disjointed and rambling for me
This song is a bit of a mess.
I think the genius of Dave's house has taken up residence in his cat...{#Yawn}
Hater's be damned!  {#Lol}

{#Stupid} I don't see how this is corny....but you are making me hungry. Off to the market.....{#Motor}

Wow...What's with all the haters? If you really dislike it so, just vote it down. This is not my favorite track. But DMB is insanely original and talented.

Seems to me that the DMB album that repels most hard core fans is the one that draws the rest of us in.  Just so I don't have to put up with drunk frat boys in the parking lot before the show.....

That was cold Dr-ice, really cold. {#Wink} How could anyone give this such a low rating?  {#Stupid} It's not the best song on the album but it is rich, it has depth and it has muscle; it's very healthy. Take another listen Doc, you may need to get a second opinion.

Allow me to be the first...1{#Puke}
A very long drum solo.
Oh no wait... its a Dave Matthews Song.
His voice makes my skin crawl.{#Eek}

As a long-time DMB fan, my initial reaction to the new songs I've heard (they're all on YouTube for those inclined to hear more) are very mature and solidly done ... and yet, I can't shake the feeling this might be the first DMB release I don't buy.

FWIW, my favorite is Lying in the Hands of God.

curious ... this may be the first DMB release i do buy.

meh

Sounding like counting crows to me. But by definition mediocrity sounds like mediocrity.

Maybe not the best song from the new album, but the one that stays stuck in my head the most.  Glad this band is back to writing good songs as opposed to Stand Up, which sound like an album of studio outtakes.
