I like Wilco a lot, but Jeff Tweedy's voice is nothing like the lead The National - Fake Empire Matt Berninger's deep, incredible voice, so following up on him forces an emphasis on Jeff's voice sounding very weak. Not the best segue unless to make Wilco sound not so good.

These guys and their earlier band (Tupelo) were once a powerhouse of a R n R band. Born in the town of Belleville, IL...home to Stag Beer and full of midwest heartbreak and goofiness.

Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is the most amazing album this band has ever made, and everything they do must measured against that. I remember dancing around the room putting my first baby boy asleep to Jesus, Etc. He slept soundly.

They have one hell of a strong catalog! I really like this song, it reminds me of songs on Sky Blue Sky or A Ghost is Born.

I second that. My English is not very good, so I generally listen to music only; from that point of view I can say that Sky Blue Sky for me is a lot more interesting than others. Last one was a bit of disappointment, I still can't love it...

Being There was my first Wilco album and remains my favorite. Although all the others but the latest are a close second.

That's what makes Tweedy so great...the ability to move seemlessly from the acoustic, melodic to the dissonant, disjointed hard-edged and back and forth....one great song after another...all in one cd.
They rocked the house at the Wiltern last month...WILCO (in their current form) is THE best band in the world today!

I can't wait either - I love Wilco - one of first bands that RP introduced me to. They always put me in a good mood. Saw them live at the Florida Theatre (beautiful venue) in Jacksonville a few years ago and would gladly pay to see them again.
