Here's a song that I waited to write with you
Think I'll finish it instead
I got enough from you love that it finishes itself
I regret

Oh
But do you like the way that it moves
Oh
Do you like the way that it moves
Oh
Do you like the way that it moves
Oh
Do you like the way that it moves

Here's a song that's been in my head
So many things we saidnever quite were sung
Take the melody love and forget the words if you must

Oh
But do you like the way that it moves
Oh
Do you like the way that it moves
Oh
Do you like the way that it moves
Oh
Do you like the way that it moves

Take your time with the meter
The rhythm will find you if you play it through
And if I'm there at the turn dear
We can give an ending that I think this song is due

'Cause I think I like the way that we moved
Oh
I think I like the way that we moved
Oh
Did you like the way that we moved
Oh
Did you like the way that we moved
(La la la la la)
(La la la la la)
That we moved
(La la la la la)
(La la la la la)

(La la la la la)
(La la la la la)
That we moved
(La la la la la)
(La la la la la)

Here's a song that I waited to write with you
(La la la la la)
(La la la la la)
Think I'll finish it instead
(La la la la la)
(La la la la la)

Guitar reminds me of Counting Crows - Round Here
Great song! Excellent record. "How the Day Sounds" from this record is a thing of beauty!!!!!
I recommend his CD Landline.
A real knockout piece of work.
Can't think of a single song-about-a-song I really like. They sound like throwaways. This one at least is nicely produced with a decent hook. It deserves better lyrics.

Of every Elbow song ever.
This sounds the Infant Sorrow (Russell Brand) song "Fury Walls" from Get Him to the Greek
it doesn't sound very original
i like this more every time i hear it. now a 9

I am 99.99% that this is NOT a cover......but I could be wrong.  I think it might sound familiar because it "Moved.....?"  It moved something within my understanding of the musical language.  Music is such great medium within which to create communication.....peace

I always think this is BareNaked Ladies
I liked it again>>>>>...peace
I DID like the way it moved......I am a professional drummer and this drum take is SO good.....it seems the voices are synthetic....hhummnn...thanks to RP for the amazon link....peace now

Related to Bill Laswell?

Ha! I just thought that.

Unlikely though. Far as I can gather Bill is East Coast based and Greg is West Coast and not related.

Related to Bill Laswell?
This might be the very definition of a "7"
...i thought this was carbon leaf as well - i guess autotune tends to make everyone sound alike...
Never heard about Greg L before, but i really like this song!

I like the way it moves, too!  I've noticed this song before and can now say that I like it.  Hope to hear more from him.

good song, though

Totally agree - I also think Carbon Leaf sounds like Eve 6 (are they the same guy?)
The way drums are recorded can completely impact a song without the listener being able to put their finger on it. From my perspective, it's exactly why music from the 80's just doesn't age well.

That's what immediately jumped out at me too....the drummer is definitely adding some spark to this
Pleasantly surprised by this album, but this is not one of the best on it.
Really liking this. Great hook.
I generally dislike self-referential lyrics, but this song is pleasant enough to listen to. I'm hearing more Hootie than Counting Crows. Everyone is influenced by those how came before them and all that {#Angel}
I wonder if the Counting Crows are suing them over the guitar hook, they seem like they would be the type to sue over that sort of thing.{#Wink}
This reminds me of The Doves.
Why fight it ... 7 it is.
sounds even more like the guy from eve 6 — but it's not..

good song, though
What exactly is IT......that moves?
Nothing new, nothing i havent heard a thosusand times already.....
Does sound like the Carbonleaf lead singer, and I think somewhat like the Filter lead singer.
Write about what you know, obviously Greg knows about writing songs.
This CD will grow on you with a few listenings. There are my tracks that "move" quite nicely.
My current fav is "Farewell" Check it out.

No surprises maybe, but I like it (7).  Some more dull commentary to add to the mix.  So that makes two of us.

A bit like your commentary...

but the song is quite good and well that leaves only one dullard...
this is incredibly dull
Oddly, what I really like about this track is the drumming.

Great song, great CD. I got this for Christmas this past year and have really liked it.

I have another song from this CD on the LRC right now, "Farewell", that's been doing pretty well (10 "Yes" vs. 1 "No" vote), so hopefully it will be on RP pretty soon, also.

Found Greg via the Paste sampler.  Really enjoying the recording!
Nice banjo, nice tune.
...this sounds a lot like the vocalist from carbon leaf - same autotune settings?..
