It's music. It CAN'T be bad.
{#Pray}
A song I love and a group that I love.... and I don't love this. Add one more vote for the Siberry version
I'll also vote for Jane Siberry. The Waling Jennies don't add anything to Siberry's take.
OK, I'm on new ground with RP.
This is my 2nd consecutive PSD. Never thought it would happen. I must be in a bad mood.
What a schleppy version though. Real sleeper.

And Bill- don't know if this is your sense of humor or just coincidence, but after PSD'ing 2 songs in a row, what comes on?
The Beatles "We Can Work It Out" came on.
You'd have to be a cretin to turn off The Beatles.
I still like 'em, but they have excised all the up-tempo songs from their repertoire — probably because those were written by Annabelle Chvostek of the Firecracker album...

Sincerely, Neil
Sooooooothing...

True, but this is a lovely song and the Jenny's do well by it nevertheless.
I do still wish Bill would play the Siberry version just the same.

This version is quite touching and I'm definitely enjoying it. But me too, I'm wanting to hear Siberry.

I am SO EXCITED.... the Jennys come to Savannah on April 16.... and I have tickets in the second row.  I had just discovered them, thanks to Bill and RP, a few days after they played there two years ago.  This is WORSE than when I was a kid and waiting for Christmas to get here.  Come on April.... hurry up!

This song, BTW, is on the "Live at Mauch Chunk Opera House" album.

I was getting chills too.

SO sorry to hear about your MIL.  I know 2 people who pancreatic cancer has taken.  It's a TERRIBLE thing to watch.  I hope for her a quick and pain free release.

You got that right! Still, this is a pretty good version too.

Lovely (& peace inducing)...no matter who performs it. {#Sunny}{#Sleep}
I prefer the Jane Siberry/k.d. lang version :-)

Song is $1 on their web site and contribution to Red Cross for each purchase.........
I thought that it w...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz{#Sleep}
It seems like every time I tune in this song is on. Please! Give it a rest.

Calling all editors...

This song would be good if it was about 40 minutes shorter.

One of my best friends has a 3 year old daughter who has been diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a potentially fatal form of cancer. She's in treatment at Vancouver's Children's Hospital.  She's a wonderful little girl who is too young to have to deal with something like this.  Anyway, this song as performed by the Jennys, is my prayer to her.  Whatever angels are in the vicinity - please help little Emily to deal with her cancer and help her find the path to a speedy and complete recovery.  Everyone else who reads this is welcome to pray for Emily as well.

I always loved Jane Sibury's. original, but listening to RP for the last month or so, this song has really grown on me - going from a 7 to a 9, this is beautiful

Curiously, that version is uploaded on RP but has never been actually played. Bill, any chance you'd play it to give folks a chance to compare the two? Personally, having heard both, I think they are both beautiful.

Just get  this .... three voices into one , that  makes it special...

Well, things would be SO MUCH BETTER if the Beatles were never played again.  But you know, that's just the world according to Gryn.

''according to Grynch'' is more like it

Nikki Mehta + the other Jennys have voices of angels

nice segway from Michael Hedges - Prelude to Cello Suite #1 (JS Bach)

Beautiful! {#Music}
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
While I appreciate the Wailin' Jennys and don't blame them one iota for knowing what's worth singing, this can't top the Siberry/KD Lang version.  I'm not usually such a mush, but I can rarely stay dry-eyed through the original...the voices build such tragic, beautiful rapture parallel to the lyrics.

Had to come back to this today after hearing it last night and downloading from the Jennys' site. It's a beautiful song, beautifully performed. I couldn't find a full play of the Siberry/Lang original but what I heard didn't impress me like the Jennys and I'll look forward to the Until the End of the World movie popping through the letterbox soon.

Love the Jennys. Seen them a few times. This tune is really kind of slow for their normal stuff. Pretty, but lacks the power of a lot of their music.

Nice though...

This remake is so-so, it will never really match up to Jane Siberry's version.

You should really only be playing Siberry's song instead.

ahhh, the world according to Gryn... maybe Gryn should have his own radio station.  I love this version, but then I love the Wailin' Jennys.  I'm curious to know what others things we should do according to him... Gryn, do you have a guide book?

That's okay. Try and relax. And remember why God created thumbs...

See them Live, and well you'll understand. No studio magic for these ladies. Its what you hear its what you get .{#Group-hug}
Looks like I'm going to have to respecfully disagree with many here: this version is EXCELLENT. I like the Siberry/lang version, too, but this sounds gorgeous. And LIVE to boot.  The Jennys have done this song proud.

You can play this every day cause there are those that like this much more than others . People should just give it a chance. But not to always to happen > i guess I am bias a little, seen it LIVE

I really don't like this version and it's getting played on here entirely too often.  It's quickly dropping for me from about a 6 to around a 3.

Brandi Carlile and her sister do a great version also.

I could not agree more that the version with KD Lang is exceptional - exquisite harmony - just heart breaking!

Her music is exceptional and live this song brings me to tears.

The jenny's don't do this justice.  My favorite version is with KD LANG and Jane.

Meh. Jane Siberry's is better.
I still can't believe I got to see them and hear them do this front row center , 10 feet away. Live a Jim Thorpe ,PA... Still one of the best redo's I've heard
Very nice and poignant song that hit me when I heard hit at 6:45 am this morning...probably because it was 6:45am this morning. If the Jane Siberry version is superior, I didn't "get that" after hearing a 30 second soundclip of the original. So I took advantage of the $1 free download of the Wailin' Jennys. That's right. It's not free and RP should fix this note on the site. But the proceeds do go to charity (I hope!). And these Jennys are not so bad looking so for a buck I'm happy to have their picture on my iPod.
Boring!
i hope the angels call her soon... {#Frustrated}

Anything new from the Jennys is cause for celebration. Wheee...{#Propeller}!

Yes, I was about to post the same thing.  Good version, but not nearly as good as the original.

I've never seen a free download link on another RP song, though.

No one sings this like Jane.

Agreed 100% !
The original Siberry & Lang version is much better.
Not bad! The (older?) version of this by Jane Siberry/K.D. Lang really does it well too.
(Jinx, just realized Tana posted this too! lol)
{#Music}

This is lovely, but the older version with Jane Siberry and kd lang is sublime.
saw them few months back, front row , in a 19th century opera house , was wonderful, and i was there when this was recorded . they informed us that we had to be real quiet so they could get right the first time.
