Sun is shinin' in the sky
There ain't a cloud in sight
It's stopped rainin'
Ev'rybody's in a play
And don't you know?
It's a beautiful new day
Hey, hey, hey

Runnin' down the avenue
See how the sun shines
Brightly in the city
On the streets
Where once was pity
Mr. Blue Sky
Is living here today
Hey, hey, hey

Mr. Blue Sky
Please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long
Where did we go wrong?
Mr. Blue Sky
Please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long
Where did we go wrong?

Hey, you with the pretty face
Welcome to the human race
A celebration
Mr. Blue Sky's up there waitin'
And today is the day we've waited for
Ho, oh, oh

Mr. Blue Sky
Please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long
Where did we go wrong?

Hey there, Mr. Blue
We're so pleased to be with you
Look around, see what you do
Everybody smiles at you
Hey there, Mr. Blue
We're so pleased to be with you
Look around, see what you do
Everybody smiles at you

Mr. Blue Sky
Mr. Blue Sky
Mr. Blue Sky

Mr. Blue, you did it right
But soon comes Mr. Night
Creepin' over
Now his hand is on your shoulder
Never mind
I'll remember you this
I'll remember you this

Mr. Blue Sky
Please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long
Where did we go wrong?
Mr. Blue Sky
Please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long
Where did we go wrong?

Hey there, Mr. Blue
We're so pleased to be with you
Look around, see what you do
Everybody smiles at you

YA...what shehazard wrote!!
Gayk... gag... {#Skull}
Really. Run it through a grinder, and it would sound better than lily a...
Pointless cover that doesn't add anything at all to the original. Probably because she couldn't come up with anything herself and had to fill the album somehow.

If we are going to hear Lily Allen I would personally prefer one of her own songs, some of which are pretty good. Still love Smile and even LDN, for example.
I'd much rather hear The Delgados' great cover of this (it's on their "Complete BBC Peel Sessions" album and also on YouTube etc.).
Yikes
Rather funny version of the wonderful ELO song

STOP IT!! REMOVE IMMEDIATELY!! DOGSH*T ON THE EARLOBE!!

not as good as the original, but still a lovely treatment of a great track. I do miss the sledgehammer on a submarine. *clang-clang-clang-clang*

I think it's sloppy teeny boppy. Once is enough, thanks.
What's more entertaining, as often as not, here at RP: the comments.  4 mere syllables, a vast reach of funny.

True; it's a pretty good cover - not a duplication.  I'm not likely to go out and buy it, but it works for me at present.
I like that album actually, but this is atrocious
Now I know why it has not been played since 2009.
My ears feel that this is sacrilegious.  Sorry, Lily.  Cowell would love this gash.

I couldn't agree more, I'm surprised with the 5 rating on this track. I gave it an 8

boooooooo!!

reminds me of a kiddie show on TV
It started out like "Woah Mr Blue Sky, a cover, by Lily of all, could be interestin"
I don't mind Lily Allen, with the accent, bratitude or whatever people go on about, she's allright.
The Bleeping production got a bit too much after a while though.
Soo, it's a 6 for now.
Wow! That was fantasic. I like it a lot {#Roflol}
I hate Lily Allen and the bloody way she speaks. If there's one accent and speech I hate, it's hers.

...i believe her father's famous - wasn't he the guess on last week's top gear?..

Yes, her dad is an actor (Keith allen) and has made some music with his celeb pals from Blur. He's mates with quite a lot of musicians and this is the only reason she is doing what she does. Forget that myspace phenomonen crap. Spoilt little rich girl who pretends she's from the street etc.

Not even worth voting for, awful.

What's the commotion over this woman? An average voice, predictable production, and a re-tread song.

...i believe her father's famous - wasn't he a guest on top gear?..right, series ten, episode nine...

My first 3 in quite a while.

Couldn't agree more. My first 1 in quite a while.
Go Lily. Bets that electro voice ELO used!!

I give her credit for putting a new spin on a classic song, but the new treatment doth not sit well with me.

A 2 if ever there was one, er, two.

Wow.  This was a good song...

... until YET another female "pop act" butchered it.
I heard the opening of the song and thought, "wow, someone's ripping off of Mr. Blue Sky..."  Turns out it's not a rip-off, just a mediocre cover.  Ah well.
I dislike this more than the original.
This is awful!  I'm an old ELO fan but yikes!
Britney... is that you ?
I am seriously torn here.
Hate LA like POISON.
Love ELO and don't mind seeing/hearing a cover...

6?
Leave it a 5?
Aggghhhhhhhh!!!

My first 3 in quite a while.

Interesting cover.

this is plus an equal song to as much others ..... in the line of the style american-way-woman make songs in series (she´s english);  it does "not heat nor it cools"… but also it does not make badly to nobody.....

sorry...what..huh?

Quirky...the song that is.

Ohhh dear - Jason Donavon in a dress

...hey, it's, like, nineteen eighty three!..
Interesting. Could we hear some more from this album?

LOL ... oh mah gawd. ELO meets ABBA? Too funny.

Upbeat, cheery...  and AWFUL {#Puke}
...and the special sound effects give it the Cher aura.
Bill? Please make it stop.
weak: but I'll give a three for all the cute rhymes
Heard the original a few day ago on the radio in the "oldies hour" and thought "oh sh*t, I am getting old".

I loved it as a child...

I approve of wild covers, even when they're not really my style. Also, I approve of the transition into real ELO.

Yeah, but what the heck.  Beats the Bangles covering Simon and Garfunkel . . . .  {#Wave}
This is like the happy-drugged-out version of ELO's classic - no likey.
Everything about her just oozes cuteness, including this song...{#Hearteyes}
PATHETICALLY HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Lily!!!  Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!  {#Tongue}
