Most people in my time share condo went outside to get some air during this song.
OMG...are you serious?? This song sucked when it came out and now it's 10X worse. And worse you're playing it on rp. Totally bummed and tuning out until you get back on track.

Thanks for the info! I didn't know about this previously.

This song has withstood the test of time in my world. It's always been my voice mail password at work.

Genius!

Tommy Tutone headlines, Stevie Ray Vaugn opens...hmmmm?
1982, Lowell Michigan.

You can save money as the cash register when the cashier asks you for your discount card.  Say you don't have your card and ask to enter your phone number instead.  Then, key in your area code + 867-5309.  Turns out, a good number of folks apply for discount cards using this iconic number rather than their real number.

To wit, Tommy Tutone, the spawn of thousands of prank calls!
Oh - I see what Bill did there! That Man ends with a phone number....clever
When is 1982 when you need it?

"I tried my imagination, but I was disturbed." {#Lol}

I've always loved that line.
this would pair nicely with some Del Fuegos
PLEASE get this number out of my head

Giving this an 8.....655309  just because I'm an older guy and think its fun.

/also use to dial to irritate the heck out of who ever had it.

Wonder if this is Forrest Gump's Jenny?

Ehh...I like it.
Now that was a swift segue!!!!
:-)
Hahahaha hilarious transition, Bill.

If you ever forget your Safeway Discount Card, just use (your area code) 867-5309, it works every time. . .

{#Dancingbanana_2}
{#Roflol} hearing this on RP!

now i have to spend my lunch getting eyeball replacement surgery after spontaneously gouging them out!
Hey, aren't they copying the chord structure from Springsteen's "Radio Nowhere?"

Z, with tongue in cheek.

{#Iamwithstupid}
exactly; guilty pleasure.
I'm wondering if Bill was watching VH1s 'One Hit Wonders of the 80s' over the weekend.....we had "She Blinded me With Science;' earlier this morning and now this. Not that I'm complaining......good stuff!

OMG!  {#Lol}

I thought I was in high school again.....

Shit ...my bandana's at the cleaners.

Great early MTV period piece.

JENNY!

Bill, you're slipping. The correct segue from Jenny Don't Be Hasty is to a Tommy Tutone song other than this one. Going straight to this one is too "on the nose".
When I was in college, back in the day, Tommy played our campus. He decided to "rub elbows" with the students, and came out to a  party.

Everything went great, until he followed a couple of girls into the loo. He had been a bit of a "handful" already, and this was the "final straw".

Yep, he got his ass kicked. We still played his song at parties, though. It was/is a great song, even if its singer was (is?) a major prick.

Good times! {#Dance}{#War} {#Chillpill}

Bill, I see you are staying current with the news!

Funny. A little meat on the bone...a DJ in northern Jersey and his roommates went and got the number for their house and were getting 30-40 calls a day for Jenny. He's selling the number on eBay. Great tune.

What a coincidence. Today I stepped to this blog post which caled mi attention.
Then I start the radio...and this song´s on!!!

Woa...creepy...

Check the story about that phone number...it´s interesting.

Greetings from Argentina to everyone listening to RP.
buda
I heard this number just came available on e-bay.  Seems a group got it cause they thought it would be funny but get 30-40 calls per day from people just trying it out.  Funny.
Bill, I see you are staying current with the news!
Great college nostalgia!  (For me anyway).

I have to admit... I love this song...  just get up and dance!

There is no need to sound like you are confessing some terrible crime!!  This is a fun tune, and it never fails to draw a chuckle out of me.  I always try to walk in the other guy's shoes, trying to imagine what it is in a particular song that could possibly justify all the bellyaching.  I never find an answer...  other than that they probably had a bad day, and want to ruin yours, too!  Just don't let them...  give them the raspberry instead!  {#Nyah}

Nice segue.....two Jennys for the price of one.    {#Dance}
Catchy but BAD

Though these songs are terrible, they aren't great.  As a Jenny I wish something in the contemporaty genre with my name could come along the caliber as Nat Cole's "Portrait of Jenny"    Ideas?

Jennifer Juniper, by Donovan (Leitch). You've probably heard it on the oldies stations. Nice song, not on the level of Nat Cole perhaps, but still way classier than Tommy Tutone.

nice story, thanks.  Couldn't hear the entire song though, but the message is clear enough.

Great to hear this one again. Trying not to sing along. Coworkers think I'm weird enough as it is. ;-)

Fun to hear this in the mix on RP, even if it is still played on commercial radio.
Radio Nowhere...
always thought this a great tune! highly under-rated
Should the follow up be Mike Doughty's "27 Jennifers" ?

Really now?  I expect Turning Japanese by the Vapors next!

oh hell.  no way.
Awesome segue from the Paolo Nutini song!
Holy Zappa.  What station is this?  And I'm first to comment.  Wow, that is some way back machine ju-ju.
