I woke up today, and I played my guitar,
And I didn't have to turn it down for you.

You're always acting like I should be somebody else,
What if that someone else turns out to not love you?

Feels like freedom is my only lover now.
Feels like loneliness, and loneliness is fine.

I went out today, and I didn't have to call.
Yeah, you didn't have to know where i was at all.

I took the bus, and I walked all over this town,
And I have never felt like I was more alive.

Feels like emptiness when I go out at night.
Feels like loneliness and loneliness feels fine.

Feels like emptiness, but the emptiness is mine.
Feels like loneliness, and loneliness is fine.

Yeah loneliness is fine.
Yeah loneliness is fine.

It’s an early track
I personally prefer the live version from the live in new York album,

6 for decent lyrics
Excellent groupe.

Sorry. Contrary to what Mr. Page believes, one can copyright lyrics or a melody, but not a sound, especially one of a voice. Jeez. There would be no Led Zeppelin or ZZ Top, or just about anyone else, if that were the case.

I don't think he needs it.

I saw them at the Whiskey Thurs. night  GREAT!!!
I hear The Fly of U2 and U2 in general. 5.
Is Bono chasing them for some royalties? He should be.

Ditto. I had heard of V.A.S.T. before, but not really heard anything by them. Liking this and the 2 or 3 others of theirs i've heard on RP. The dilema being they're all tracks off different albums (i think). So, if i'm gona buy 1 of their albums (for starters!), can anyone who knows them better suggest which V.A.S.T. album should i get (first)? thanx

Ditto squared.

RP plays several songs from NUDE, which was my intro to VAST. I think it's a really good one to start with.

There's something pretty new from the Stereophonics that borrows heavily from this track in places.

Oh, so this is that song ... huh! Thanks RP! {#Cheers} Vast is such a solidly good band! {#Sunny}

Yes, it does! I thought it was something from Remy Zero — kind of reminds me of "Gramarye".

I can relate to the sentiment of the lyrics right now... unfortunately.

Es lebe die narzisstische Selbstdarstellung! 10 for this narcistic comment but also 10 for this higly repetitive simplicistic, but nevertheless godlike song!{#Dancingbanana_2}
This sounds like U2 "The Fly".
Looking out over the age-old tiled rooftop of Vieux Lyon as this plays... VASTness is a cool contrast...
i suppose Loneliness is Fine, but i never really cared for it

Every artist is a cannibal

Every poet is a thief

Both kill their inspiration

And sing about the grief

as i had already given the song a 7. What? they don't know what they would rate this song? Now, that the song played entirely, i should have waited and given it a 9 which i did! Loneliness is Fine is a very well written song with a wonderful quality to it!

Love Vast!

It's no secret that our world is in darkness tonight

i'ma luvvah this. will buy immediately
Sounds like somebody needs a hug.
Immediately bought it. Cool track.  It's going on my DriveHome playlist.

Without the words, it sounds like some music used in Snatch... nice. Thanks Bill!
like a mix between the doors and depeche mode...  would fit in well with a late 80's vampire in a city at nigh sound track
Digging this!  About a minute into it I went for the good headphones and it's even better now!  The guitar riff is sweet, and the vocals have a steely edge to them, like his voice is just about to break.

Mmmm.... Vast I haven't heard! Kudos, Rebecca!
Luvin VAST
I like it alot too 7
This is, to me, kind of reminiscent of Vibrolux and/or Stabbing Westward. Same driving beat with that high-low octave bass and thought-provoking lyrics. I like it a lot.
Kinda like an updated Doors....
Great song. Great band. Just bought the whole EP via RP's sponsored link.

Thanks for making me discover so much great stuff !

Basically he doesn't like it I guess.
Calypsus' comment reminds me of a game called "Le cadavre exquis"
" it's a game/creation system invented by the surrealist group:
you write a word, you hide it and somebody else write another word, hide it etc... at the end you have a full sentence" (
wordreference.com)

I think "The Exquisite Corpse" game started off as a drawing on a long sheet of paper. One person would draw a head, fold the paper to hide the segment and send it to the next, who drew the chest, until you had an entire person - then revealed to the players. Poet Andrei Codrescu runs a website literary magazine with the same name. Was there a song in here somewhere? Sorry, lost in digression.
This rocks.

Hello. VAST has set up https://meandyoudonate.com to benefit a number of charities. a portion of every sale is donated. Thanks.

That's a 7 on the first listen.  A little short.  But it made me sit up and take notice, something that the previous Stones song failed to do....

Gracie, eh?  Good morning Bill!  And here I thought your voice fill-ins were all canned....  Bad me.

Sounds good, but I can't find any info on when this album is coming out....

Was outside and thought this was new U2-had to come inside to check.(not that I like U2 that much, but liked this)
Vast gone Moby...
Tedious
suffers a bit from excessive use of title in the refrain, but a decent 5.

Thanks Bill, rock n roll {#Bananajam}
I've had Frog stuck in my head for days since the last play... This new one doesn't seem to stand out as much, but sounds nice so far!
