We're not the same, dear
As we used to be
The seasons have changed
And so have we

There was little we could say
And even less that we could do
To stop the ice from getting thinner
Under me and you

We buried our love
In the wintery grave
A lump in the snow
Was all that remained

Though we stayed by its side
As the days turned to weeks
And the ice kept getting thinner
With every word that we'd speak

And when the spring arrived
We were taken by surprise
When the floes under our feet
Bled into the sea
And nothing was left for you and me

We're not the same, dear
And it seems to me
There's nowhere we can go
With nothing underneath

Then it saddens me to say
What we both knew was true
That the ice was getting thinner
Under me and you
The ice was getting thinner
Under me and you

DCFC is way better than this.

Ben is easily the best song writer of our generation. I've yet to hear anything that even comes close to him. <3

No, Radio was right — it's a letdown, and it's the same thing five months later.  Why, it's a letdown that stands the test of time!  Maybe one day Jealous Guy to Ice is Getting Thinner will be the paradigm of letdownosity.

same thing 5 months later as well :)
BORING.
Wow, as much as like these guys, that was shit.

Death Cab hasn't really done anything good (with rare exception) since The Photo Album. I wrote these guys off a long time ago.

This song in particular is the epitome of "sucko-barfo". No thanks.

Fans of Plans should give this one a listen.  There are a couple duds in the middle, but for the most part, it shines.  I only wish there was more of that bitchin' piano.

No, it's called cumulation....

Ditto.

Aaah Narrow Stairs, pretty good album.

Cath is terrific, but everything else I've heard by them on RP is lackluster.
ANOTHER cool album cover.  See Stereophonics Sex Language Violence Other - they could be hung together in the same art show.

I keep waiting for this to get into gear.
When does the song start?

And don't call me Shirley.

Nice song but boring {#Sleep}

song for relax

And Leon's getting laaaarrrrrgerrrrr....

Okay song for a mood scene in an indy movie but nothing I'd care to hear on any regular basis.  Only thing that's really grabbed my ear by these guys (I think it's by them) is the song something about a song floating in the air.

Nope, I still like it.

I'm over it.  Are you over it?  Yeah, I thought so.
I didn't like that as much as I hoped I would. It's still pretty good, though.
Nice segue from King Crimson Bill!

Pseudo-falsetto?  Isn't that like false-lies?  Or maybe fake-faking.  Just sayin'.

Fake faking pretty much sums this band up.  Nothing but a bad joke.

yeah really getting sick of these guys.

Probably because both are amateurish and bad. Sing-songy psuedo-falsetto, first-time lesson musicianship and oh-so-precious lyrics. Maybe nice for the first listen but gets tiresome very quickly.

This one gets a 4, just because it isn't as horrid as most of their stuff.

this whole album, everything i've heard of it anyway, is BORING. like, seriously boring. and i liked DCFC's earlier albums. have they become victims of success and rested on their laurels? or have i just not heard the hidden gem or two on the album? dunno, because based on what i've heard, i'm not going to buy it. *sigh*
i have to be in just the right mood to listen to Death Cab, sometimes it sounds fantastic, other times i just cant stand it! like this at the moment though, i'm obviously in a Death cab mood!

More like it's gonna be really tough to top Transatlanticism. (Plans didn't, IMHO.)
I really like this band a lot . . . but this CD sounds too similar to their other stuff.
The music = 8 The singer = 5

Not sure about this song yet, but I have faith that it will grow on me. Death Cab is awesome!

I love this band. Great tunes. I think Your New Twin Sized Bed belongs on the RP playlist too!

This album deserves a listen; there are lots of very strong tracks.
Nice. Gave me goosebumps.
I really want to like Death Cab...but I just can't get past the long drawn out songs that don't appear to go anywhere. I'll keep trying!
It's gonna be really tough to top Plans.
Not really a fan of the band, but this is striking me as better then usual. I'll start it out as a 5 and see what happens.
Getting better and better; this band that is.
