That's really my beef with the song.  The artist could have used orchestral arrangements in a more dynamic way, gradually bringing the song to it's finale.
Glassy...in a good way.
Surprised at so many negative comments.  I really like the song and am trying to remember the movie I heard it in.
Just plainly beautiful, with a touch of Twin Peaks.
I keep expecting Amy Lee to start subbing at any moment.
Absolutely lovely.  Reminds me of Satie.
i LOVE this. first time noticing it. so great.

album cover is fab, too.

Thank you, d-don, and all the teachers out there! Support them and pray for them because they really help this country from falling apart.
love this track. just played it yesterday though.
I will be looking for more of his music.
There is soooo much New Age blandness out there... I thank Bill for weeding through it and happily cherry🍒 picking ones like this.
Beautiful, but painfully repetitious.

What? No! "Kitsch" is for stuff like gold-rimmed, flower-covered tea services and Rosamunde Pilcher movies...!

I find your comment depressing.

Beautiful song but a little depressing.
Sorry, this Eluvium elevator music is PSD for me - this doesn't mean that I don't love so many "global" selections so please, don't stone me for the rejection.
I find myself relaxing and adjusting my angle of repose.
I find this calming and beautifully serene.

Which, sometimes, is just what we need.
This reminds me of the soundtrack for "The Truman Show."
This sounds like a song used in the TV show "Lost".
Thanks RP.

Does anyone realize that you can point this out to BillG and he will fix it?  Better yet, find the link and send it on in.

I agree, boring, repetitive and pointless. And I don't like it🐨

I find them both interesting.
Peaceful on this Friday afternoon. Can feel the stress of the week lifting from my shoulders.
What a wonderful musicmix first Comptine d`un autre ete - l`apres-midi now Prelude For Time! I wish everybody a fantastic day.
Stunning!!!

Uh, no. Prelude For Noodling.

I like noodling, so I like this song. To each, their own I suppose.

Now I can feel time too...
Hard to imagine "music" that could be made more utterly boring... All comparison to "Bolero" are invalids, folks.

BUT YOU WANNA' BE BORED? JUST WAIT! New frontiers in boring music await you, Pilgrim!  Google "Long Player." It's a musical composition derived from a performance by real humans (I think...) on gongs and bowls and bells and stuff done in 1999, then put into some kind of computer Artificial Intelligence hellscape to play for 1000 years "without any repetition"- HAhahaha{#Eyes}. The joke is IT'S NOTHING BUT REPETITION.
Uh, no. Prelude For Noodling.
no beginning, no end just a whole lot of middle

The album cover resembles giant teeth to me.
Maybe you're onto something with your idea.
Now just say AAAHHHH
Radio Paradise is always changing and moving forward. But happily it remains the same!
Soothing, but not memorable. Unfortunate similarity in the artist's choice of name to "effluvium"...

+1 for learning something new and random!

Also, enjoyed the music.
That hit my soul....beautiful
Ahhh...I know that view.

We're not all completely stupid, just those spiteful trolls who can't miss a choon without commenting in a negative way. One of the reasons Bill gave us buttons to play with ...

Thank you. THis is just what I needed to hear.

For that reason I thought it must be Ludovico Einaudi.

Hey Bill--Not a music comment (though I give a 7 or 8). The wikilink is to the defintion of Eluvium. I don't know how to point it to the right entry:

Paul
This is nothing but WALLPAPER, something to be heard in the far distance (perhaps a few mountains away), not as a solo work. How I long for the true creativity of the 60s and 70s; that is when contemporary music almost rivaled classical music. In some regards, the artisanry of 60s-70s music truly stretched the mind.
As for the pseudo "eluvial" science, oh c'mon - someone took a single college course and thought they had a Ph.D.

I recommend looking up the words you do not understand before writing your comments.

You obviously have no concept of what exactly "euthanasia" really means...

I thought it could do with another melody, or maybe it would be a great backing track

On some days this might be Elysium. On others, Efluvium. Sort of evocative. And sort of hits a plateau and stays there. I hear a movie soundtrack trying to break out.

Interesting.  I thought this was a classical piece from many years ago.  I find it quite beautiful, relaxing and refreshing.

D - F#m: I - iii, aka "tonic to mediant".  Sorry, those lawyers would have a problem trying to sue over a long-established, diatonic, two-chord sequence.  Lennon's tune goes into several more chords after those two chords. The chorus from Alan Parson's "Eye In The Sky" and the opening from Evanescence’s “My Immortal” use the same sequence.

Up a lazy River aka Fluvium.

No, not more Einaudi & Glass crap on RP.
This song sounds like inner peace while the whole world around me is in turmoil.
A bit like enjoying the view from the inside while being in a slow motion car crash ...

The music itself is fine, but it's too long and repetitive, I keep waiting for the "élan" that will take the song to a next level, make it all wake up or reach another level ! I'm waiting for something to happen, whether good or bad, just something but the song remains in the same mood and there is no evolution, no variation, maybe a vague attempt at the end, but it's very subtile, too subtile.
Sorry, only 4 for this.
This is so incredibly boring.

Does this ever end?
I apologize. I'm guilty of not reading the ancient history on this one {#Redface} , but wasn't this the "end song" that was played for the last episode of "Lost" ?
from: "The Hours"?
I keep expecting this to break into John Miles "Music", and that is REALLY not a good thing. Except that this is not even as interesting as the aforesaid track. So even more of a not good thing.
They are more like ''alluvium'' to me.
