Worst Chuck Prophet song ever. This is just screechy and repetitive. Please do not play it again.

Yeah, mentioning Jesus in "odd" contexts in songs is turning into the "we need to be noticed so let's try to be edgy" cliche. It really shows a lack of creativity, IMHO.
Agreed. Chuck this prophet.

Eh, what's that? Why would anybody want to make a daughter out of Croesus?
You could make a dollar out of Cheez Whiz!

Now that you've made your mark on the world, you can rest easy.

You can make a DOLLAR out of Jesus is what I heard! This song definitely grew on me... I like it more each time. MORE CHUCK PROPHET!

Yah, that's better than the song. I sort of thought it was ok, then the kids came in at the end, thereby bumping it down to 3, at best.

The problem with listening at work is that the volume is too low...as a result, I heard "You can make a DAUGHTER out of Jesus."

He did a kickass version of this on Letterman.
The problem with listening at work is that the volume is too low...as a result, I heard "You can make a DAUGHTER out of Jesus."

Yowsa! I can see why the comments are all over the board...this is really interesting music Very at home on RP, of course
About as irritating as music gets.
I first heard Chuck Prophet on RP and have come to appreciate the craftsmanship of his songs. In this one, for example, the strings and children's choir don't diminish the drive of the song, which is propelled by an interesting bass figure. And as we've seen from the comments below, his lyrics adjust themselves to the ears of the listener.
nope.....
You can make a Star of David out of a dollar.
I think Jesus would be turned off by the hate in this song.
cool....
Catchy tune.
Nope, not working. I still hear "You could make a dollar out of Jesus."
Well here is what I think....Forget it!

If no one had mentioned it, I would have gone on thinking that's what he was saying.
