Careless in our summer clothes, splashing around in the muck and the mire
Careless in our summer clothes, splashing around in the muck and the mire

Fell asleep with stains, caked deep in the knees (what a pain)

Now hang me up to dry
You wrung me out too, too, too many times
Now hang me up to dry
I'm pearly like the whites wh-whites of your eyes

All mixed up in the wash
Hot water bleeding our colors

Good Tune!

This song is good for driving around, but not for background music at work.  It's hard to talk with someone, when his high stressed singing is vaping through the room.  Appreciate it, but have to skip it.

maybe the rock mix isn't always the best choice for the workday.
Bought this album--gulp! 15 years ago--and instantly dug this song.  Great odd rock song and what pipes!
Utter shite😡
Lots of yelling, not much music. PSD.

I must say I thought similar of the Shakes, but I forgot who it was they reminded me of.

Nice.
Wow, I guess the cool kids have spoken.  Back to your Radiohead records, I'll go listen to this album again.  It's good.

Horrible. I can sing better than that and I cant carry a note in a bucket!

Patiently waiting on your debut album.

Find somebody to pound the piano, off-key and out of rhythm, during the chorus break; alternate that with a derailleur clicking ... and you might get a record deal.

I like this a lot.
I'm not sure why anyone would choose to listen to this voluntarily :^ /
No wonder why I haven't heard of this band.
On my top ten list of most annoying voices ever.

Generally, musical choruses tend to repeat certain phrases.
Stinky and lovely.  Time to investigate ....
They sound like a more serious version of one of my local favorites, Rural Swine. Love it, Bill.
Horrible. I can sing better than that and I cant carry a note in a bucket!
I bought it in a can, and stirred it with my fingers, singin' boom da-da-da-da-da-da boom da-dat da-da, threw it out the window...
I like the barely restrained energy of this song. It definitely has the feel of a garage band fooling around & having fun with the music, but writ large. Some of the lead singer's vocals seem to be at the far end of his range and he strains to reach the notes, which kills some of the enjoyment. Reminds me a little bit of The Beastie Boys Sabotage.

I'm very ambivalent toward it myself.

It's horrid, yet oh-so catchy!

This song is terrible, I like it!

You guys crack me up!! {#Biggrin} {#Smile}

I freaking LOVE this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
{#Bananapiano}
his voice is alot like Tim Buckley. Not always so crazy about their stuff; I don't own any of their music but from what I've heard here I strongly prefer their harder-bangin' stuff over the mellow tunes. They seem really intelligent and I think alot of it makes their music seem really dry and strained..

I have loved this song since I first heard it here way back when. Nice.

Awesome in concert last spring in The Gorge. . .

I just came in here to post that very thing.

This is what I am talking about. Their new album is WAAAAAAY TOOOO mellow.
I flippin' LOVE this album.  'Nuff said.
for some reason this brings to mind an old Stones song....maybe Under my thumb.
just lovely!!!
It got my attention in a trailer for Burn Notice...
I thought I was l listening to a previously unheard Tom Verlaine / Television track.
ROCK!!!
i kinda like it!
This is painful, and not in a good way.

It has nothing to do with your mood. His voice is painfully grating. Not a bad song overall, but nearly unbearable because of the voice.

Good for them, because recorded they're awful.

Very good tune.

4 me it's that out of tune-ness I can't stand. Sounds like Les Dawson.
These guys are *great* live!
Sounds like Modest Mouse, only somehow with LESS talent.

Why do all the current popular bands employ the worst singers possible?
This is horrible
Am giving this one two forks up {#Hungry}{#Hungry}

i like this better than Used To Vacation - got pretty burnt out on that one. i really dig the rolling groove on this one.
These kids are cool.

I simultaneously do and do not like it. Perhaps it's because I know it's not really any good and so feel guilty for enjoying it, like a greasy cheeseburger eaten on the sly.

Not very good, but it has it own sound which you cant say all Indie Rock Bands have...I give it a 6.

This one's actually starting to grow on me.
Ahhh good - I needed to balance out all the high ratings I've been handing out today.
as Mark Twain said, Wagner's music is probably better than it sounds...ditto for this
I hate Laundry

I saw them a few months ago with Tokyo Police Club. CWK were the better band. You are to be envied, effendi!
Know what makes it even better? The show only costs $5!! We're lucky to have a good local (independently owned) alternative radio station, they put on these "low dough" shows on a regular basis, it is awesome.

I think it sounds like Pat Monahan (sp?) from Train. Just more strained. I love it!
garbage, that is all.
I have no clue why, but I'm really enjoying this song. 7 -> 8
i like it but i feel like he's yelling at me too. i guess i had too many whiney b-friends
Don't like this guy's vocals. Too White Stripish. To each their own. 2 *edit* and played WAAAAAY too often, IMO.
Kind of a novelty at first, but that singer's voice becomes very grating pretty fast.
Just bumped this from 4 to 6. Give it a few more weeks and who knows where this will end!
Hey, it's the laundry song again!

Not me ... I'm with the "fingernails in concrete" comment, only in a negative way. Mute ...
This really kicks!
I am just so digging this song!!!
Nice one. I really thought this was the White Stripes until I saw the playlist. The spare sound with clanging guitar is very WS, IMO. 7 from the Nottingham jury.
Love this song. The entire album rocks!
No sir, I don't like it.

I could live my whole life happily while never hearing this whiney voice again.
Great tune. Great groove, really enjoy this.

Much prefer their Vacation song, this is too whiny and whatnot. This is the wrong album cover right?

Me too, I can't decide if I merly need to reach for an air sick bag or if I loathe it with every once of my soul.
I have mixed feelings for this song
Waaaaaaaaaay better than the other song that gets lots of play from these guys on here..
Wow toes are a tappin' I may have to pick this album up this afternoon.
ALL RIGHT ALL RIGHT I'LL BUY IT I'LL BUY IT JUST MAKE IT STOP IN MY HEAD AT RANDOM TIMES OF THE DAY!!!!! sorry, everybody. Best song ever from the point of view of a towel.
I dunno why, but I like this song....
Gotta bump it 7 > 8.

Ha Ha! Me too!
I upped their score .. song grows on me sort of ... Where did that random piano come from, anyway? Still too much whine
Great song..It has an early Stones feel (guitar)
I like it. F everybody.
Just listening to this makes my throat hurt. I can imagine how it feels to perform. His vocal cords are gonna be fried by the time he's 30.
Other than the fact that this is in heavy rotation the last couple of weeks on RP, I really dig this. 7 --> 8
Gotta admit, this one is growing on me. 6 to 7
Fantastic set... Goyte, Spoon, Beck, and now Cold War Kids... Bill, I feel like you put it together just for me! Thanks!
His voice grates on this song. I much prefer "We Used to Vacation", the other RP feature by this group

I was disapointed by this band at Lollapalooza this year. Lackluster performance. And the stage was too small for the huge crowd they attracted.
Sad to hear. I wanted to see them, but missed it due to illness. Guess I didn't miss as much as I thought. Still like this song, though.
