Perdoai-o, Senhor da Música, ele não tem a mínima noção do que escreve! E o pior é que é brasileiro...

Umbabarauma! Go man, go!

Great song.  There is an amazing house track called 'Nothing is Impossible' that uses samples from this tune!
This compilation by Byrne is an excellent intro to some very cool, late vintage Brazilian MPB...

Excellent compilation!
The world cup is coming. Brasil!!!!{#Roflol}
Adorei! Obrigado Bill!
Yay!!!!!!{#Dancingbanana}
Super!  Have not heard this in a while... Love it
This song rocks!...
This compilation  turned me on to the whole Brazillian afro-cuban experience...
Oh, yes, now you're rocking, Bill! Great track, one of my favourite ones by maestro Ben.

Greetings from London.

Este mala/picareta simplesmente inventou um estilo musical. Queria mais malas e picaretas assim {#Tongue}

Ohhh wow! I have wanted to hear this again forever! I heard this years and years ago during the screening of that year's animation festival at Cornell U. One of the shorts
was an abstract animation of the same name based on the song. Neat!
More please!!{#Clap}
Wowwwwwww, I had ~totally~ forgotten about this song! I had seen this in an animation festival about 20 years ago! Whoa!!!
Goooooaaaaal !
Always loved this tune. When I heard it meant it was Friday afternoon, and they were rocking the Brazilian jams on Horizontes on KUT-FM. Oh yeah.

This guy now calls himself Jorge Ben Jor (I think it is a numerological thing)

I prefer the version by Soulfly...

He talks funny
I first heard this about twenty years ago, I think. I still find it moving, and truly unique. The guitars complementing the vocals seem just haunting and funky. Brilliant arrangement. Does anybody know how it translates or what the song is about? Found a video for it on YouTube... (click here) this song is about umbaba the first african soccer player to play in england, in brazil peple name ponta de lança the guy who gives the ball for another guy to do the gol...
cant believe you guys have this ! loved it for years...i still have the cassette!...thats how old and rare this is. ty!
Yeeeah, this is soooo cool, was at concert with this guys, just GREAT!!
A journalist friend of mine introduced me to one of these David Byrne collaborated albums years ago, and after my copy was stolen, it took me years to find the albums again. There is some really wonderful stuff on all 3 albums.
This great! Back in my DJ days, I hosted a world music show... this was played a LOT!
This is cool
Oh, nifty! I heard this for the first time, and only once or twice ever since, may, many years ago as the soundtrack for an animation shown as part of one of the Animation Festivals they used to show every year at the College Cinema. The song was quite catchy, the animation quite bizarre (was called the same as the song), and the piece stayed with me ever since. Cool!
Shoulder-shakin fun! Nice.
Used to be my favorite tape (yes, cassette) for working out to. Wow, blast from the past!
YEAH! Who saw the sand art video that used this back in the 80's? Great stuff!
Brazillian classic
More new music to RP! Good stuff Bill!
Wow - one of my favorites I have not heard in a while. This is a great CD!
