Heavy breath
Lost in my chest
Heaviness, in my eyes
Elements work against
The element of surprise

When the air is cold
And there's no sun
When your getting old and life's no fun
When your stuck in traffic
And the radio static
And you feel like you're coming undone

Remember to breathe
Remember to look at the sky
Remember to stay straight
And get high

Heavy legs
Lost in my steps
Heaviness in my mind
Ability to lose the ability to find

When the air is cold
And there's no light
When your getting old
And you cant fight
When your day is endless
And your life is a mess
And there's nothing but nothing inside

Remember to breathe
Remember to watch the trees grow
Remember to hold on and let go

Remember to smile
Remember to see the bright side
Remember to feel lucky you're alive

Remember to sleep
Remember to dream
Remember to be free

Parts of the two-note phrasing in the bass lines are similar, but the two songs have entirely different chord progressions and melodies.

GREAT SONG!

SEXY and FUNKY - GEIL!

I like this, a lot.  RP is where I've heard it.  Thank you RP.
Here a lot of Sonic Youth in this track.
I like it.  Sounds like Julianna Hatfield singing for Pinback.

A year later and I wonder if it's the same playlist (I bet not).  The string Bill has put together today definitely rates a 10 from me.

Thanks, Bill!
SPLENDID YEP!
cover photo makes me think of meg tilly.
RP was on in the background when this came on.  Just turned it up.  This Rocks!

"L.A.-based trio Space Mtn offers some pretty cool twists of its own. Lead singer and bassist Dina Waxman and guitarist Chris Jacks take the group across cinematic soundscapes, anchored by Waxman's bass lines and Jacks' surprising guitar work. They share credit for the songs, which explore relationships with a sci-fi edge. "I write most of the songs beginning to end on the bass by myself," Waxman said. "Chris comes in and writes guitar parts and keyboard parts and orchestrates the strings and does a lot of drum programming."

Yeah, I was just noticing what a rip this song is. Even some of the guitar hits mirror that moment before 'all is quiet...'

There are some days that Bill plays one of my favorite songs after another. Sadly, this is not one of those days.

well, that beginning definitley grabbed my attention. I like the lyrics, the message is uplifting, despite the raspy somewhat gloomy sound of it all. not bad, not bad

Reminds me of a band called Forget Cassettes and made me wonder if they were related...doesn't seem so. If you dig this look up Forget Cassettes.

don't like the vocals. guitar is ok. interesting cover art.

Sweet! They're like Silversun Pickups...only the lead singer is actually a woman!

The bass line is similar in parts; it sounds like appropriate notes to accompany minor chords.  The bass player may have been thinking of U2 in terms of the phrasing or something, but I don't think this song sounds "JUST like New Years Day".  Everyone hears different things though.
Is "subtly obvious" like defiantly passive?

I thought for sure it was a cover of "New Year's Day" after the first couple of bars, too. Pretty obvious lift.

I tried to buy this song at iTunes, but it's not listed on this album.

Actually, I just realized this song is really about the Space Mountain ride at Disney World. Neat! Or not.
