This flurry of plans
is over, over.
And I'm sorry and glad together.

Our bustling house
is sane now, sane now.
And I'm sorry and glad together.

Didn't it go by so quickly, Mary?
I am missing our sewing in secret,
making up his holiday.

It's finally come round.
It's been a long time, a long time.
And I'm sorry and glad together
now.

Now we watch out of doors for May
and the travels of summer ahead
with. What will we bring?
Thoughts of trains,
thoughts of sea.
Will they come? And what will we say?
How possible everything is
in this wondering,
endless wait.
And how sure is joy, and safe.
In May I will say,
I am sorry and glad together now

Always loved this album.  Brings back a lot of memories.  So glad to hear it again, particularly on RP!

Always loved this album, though I don't think this is one of the better songs.

Yep, Karen Peris and Harriet Wheeler are two peas in a pod, vocal-wise. Note: this is not a bad thing.

I agree, twice. To my ear, they sound almost identical.
And as Harriet's voice invokes some bitter-but-mostly-sweet memories, I'm happy to have either in my ears and head.
bloody awful

Nice. Some vintage Karen and Don.  Off one of their greatest albums.  Love it.
Reminds me of the CocteauTwins, but with intelligible words

Whoa... Breathe in / Breathe out.  Open your mind & learn to read.  There is freedom in forgiveness and there is power in the blood.  No pressure, but I think you are the one kowtowing to dogmatic theologies designed by those with power to make you live like a sheep.  Some say God's voice is like music and we are supposed to be connected to the creator and not live on isolated islands.  Free your mind!

Power in the blood?  God's voice is like music?  Connected to the creator?

Wow.  Yeah, it's my mind that's not free.

As soon as this came on I thought the lead singer from the Sundays started a new band- dammit!  Love the voice and the song was cool.  Saw post below about them becoming jeezusy- what a shame.

Well said!  It IS too bad that The Innocence Mission got all preachy and jesus-centric though.  Still, they're first 4 albums are favorites.

CocteauTwins clone...
I thought this was the Sundays. how did I miss this? maybe it was the Jebus connection...
Looked this one up on a lark, get to see it's still getting played on occasion. Great song from a wonderful band. My crush on Karen hasn't faded much these last 20 years.

Exactly my first thought. Actually quite different for the mission, but yet so similar to the twins that it's all I can hear. It's almost like they sampled 'Pitch the Baby'.

I've been a fan for a long time.  I can't find this album on I-tunes, however. Why?

My guess was actually Patti G.  Guess not, again.

Like the Cocteau Twins but not a tenth as interesting, sadly. The snooze continues... {#Sleep}

Thank God it's not the Saturdays

This song warms my heart every time I hear it.
Thank you Bill and Rebecca.  I love that you are fans as well.
{#Daisy}
reminds me of Cindy Lauper

Hate to say Me Too. But I thought this was the Sundays (whom I greatly enjoy)

I'm much more familiar with The Sundays, but it seems (according the good ole Internet, not my personal knowledge) that IM is at least as old... So its an open question as to who influenced who I suspect.

This song is even more Sundaysy than the previous songs we've heard, with its heavily chorused guitar sound.  But we're not getting anything else from the Sundays, so I'm glad these folks are doing it.

Nope. Just sorry.
Reminds me a bit of Over the Rhine, which is a good thing.  This is really sweet.

Cool. I'll be sure to relay your message next time I run into Don at the grocery store!

I find her voice and the music to be refreshingly sweet and honest...a rare combination indeed.
enough please...{#Yawn}

Interesting song, nice voice too.

II love anything Karen Peris does, so I enjoyed this song... not my favorite of the Mission, but non the less an outstanding group singing/performing a very good song.
not bad. this chick comes up with some pretty cool melodies.
