Gee, I kinda like it   {#Surprised}
that was horrible
Akkk! This song doesn't even make melodic sense. Gotta hit mute and it's the first RP song of the day for me.{#Wall}
Oh my.. not RJ's best

"I feel NUMB!"   (U2)

Please make it stop.....

I'm with ya man, at least don't play it anywhere near SRV... what an insult

From AMG "....everything on the record was written, produced, and most importantly, performed by Rjd2 in his home studio." Impressive!

Yeah.  Or at least that is how it struck me at the time.   The sound is understated compared to Yes' fuller, often bombastic sound.  Just listening to the guitar.

 well we only had two bits and we're out now, we didn't expect such a rush

Reminds me a little of Grizzly Bear.

This one's okay, but he has many more, much better tracks out there. {#Angel}

Huh?  Yeh, it does, man. That's some cool synchronization there.

(In my humble opinion.)

I really like this. :)
Saturated recording. Very unpleasant

inspiration in famous Band "Yes" ..... or attempt of copy of the style?;  it is a question....

songs like this remind me that snow ski season is coming soon!
I'm really liking this set!
10cc... that's what I heard.

Always a little different...

Started out having potential.  Then the vocals kicked in and the standard electro-pop sound took over.  No thanks.

Steven Stills. At least, that's who I'm reminded of.

Imagine it would have been R2D2 who made this song. Only the bleep sounds would remain I think...
I always think he's saying "green energy"...

5 -> 6. Was tempted to go all the way to 7, but I feel like I should be more conservative in my score raises. Maybe next time. . .
given the genetic advances that the past few years have seen, i predict that soon i will have a clone and be able to give this piece four thumbs down. in the meantime, i guess two will suffice. i'm no television dog psychic, but i think my dog disapproves as well.

Reminds me of Pinback. The myriad folks that dismiss it are missing something and I wonder why.

Good to see I'm not the only one. I was gonna say that I could believe this was one of those boy bands, like Boys to Men (isn't that another one or was I thinking of Backstreet Boys?) or Take That. Sounds so pop-y in that way. Usually I like the RJD2 stuff I hear on RP, but not this one.
That's nice as listening to RP also can prevent from purchasing crap.
I like this track.
Thought it was new XTC...
Rjd2's previous works have been almost universally interesting and innovative IMO, but I can find very little redeeming about this whole record. It was one I was really looking forward to, but probably will be my biggest disappointment this year.
I would give it a negative rating if it were possible as well. This sounds like disposable MTV-Backstreet Boy-BS. Mario Bro. song is better than this.
RJD2's transformation from awesome DJ to run-of-the-mill pop singer has been one of the most startling in recent years. This song, nay, the entire album is crap. I made the mistake of going to a show earlier in the year--despite my friend warning he went pop--and I tell you that I have never seen a more disappointed crowd after a concert. If I could rate this a negative # I would. Pathetic...

Thanks Scott. I like DM all right, but that got an actual LOL! RJD2 puts together some really interesting stuff. Glad to hear it being played.
Thank you. That made my day! This song is a terrific example of why I listen to RP instead of my mp3 collection. MonkeyPod wrote:

Very interesting (note I didn't say "good"). Somewhat challenging in composition, and yes, the singer's voice is pretty smooth...perhaps these two things explain the low(er) rating. Frankly, it's better than a 5...love the roots behind this tune. Quite likeable anyway.
Why do people like this song? It sounds fairly disposable to me.
What part of 'eclectic online rock radio' don't you punks understand? Let the DJ spin 'em!
Sorry, barfo on this one man. It just reminds me of a back street boys kinda sound.
I'm tempted to give this a 10, just so it has one 10 vote. Is that wrong? At any rate, my favorite of his, so a solid 8.
thanks to those of you wise in the ways of music who made the connection between RJD2 and prog-rock - i would have missed that i love you RP
The bass playing reminds me of Chris Squire. Very cool sound.

I\'ve got it....Air meets King Crimson...first time I\'ve heard it, was ready to dislike it, not sure....I suspect it is not really as good as it may seem (whatever that means).
Nice album cover art too.

*nods head* Yeah, what he said. This is not too bad... very enjoyable if you just take it for what it is. And I agree that it's a nice groove. BTW, every time I see this band's name, I immediately think it says R2D2. *giggle*

I actually went to the running iTunes banner to see what Alan Parsons song this was....I think I like this band, simply because their music reminds me of other music from a time not too long past.... sholtzma

Indeed. Sucko....Barfo.
Well, I gave it another try, and again, I physically cringed and muted after 30 seconds. Awful. How does this follow Depeche Mode? Bill, this deserves an explanation!

I like this. Kind of relaxing.
And, suddenly, my Massive Attack mood goes straight to crap. What gives? What is this trying to sound like? I'll concede that I've enjoyed some of their other tunes on RP but this tune is just plain confused. 3.

Most of the songs have little substance to them, not very ingenious, ... almost downright boring, I would check out this album on Amazon before buying it, something I should have done before blowing 12 bucks for this cd.

I found the new album a major disappointment exactly because of the unnecessary vocals. Beats and production are as good as always, but somebody should've told him that singing wasn't such a good idea.

Interesting. And RJD2 sings!

I'm a big Prog Rock fan, but this is overcooked and self-conscious. Terrible stuff trying way too hard and failing miserably. 2
Well, that would produce one godawful mess, which is what this is. coding_to_music wrote:

epitomizes 'pretty good'.

God, I hope you're kidding. This band, based on what I've heard from them so far, is mediocre at best.
