President of France.
I just discovered Carla Bruni and love her! That soft voice and sexy accent is sooo easy to take on a lazy afternoon.
Why did a different album cover get posted?I don't think the resonator guitar was all that distracting.

She's half-Italian and half-French. She's an heir to an Italian tire company's fortune. AFAIK that would be Pirelli. She went to private school in France, and became a professional model at 18. She was in the top 20 list of supermodels, as far as how much she got paid. Not that she needed it... During her modeling career, she was linked to several rich and famous men, including Mick Jagger and *shudder* Donald Trump. She's currently married, to someone not famous. She retired from modeling and took up chanson, an traditional French style of song. Apparently she excelled at that as well, and thus began her singing career. All I know about her songs is that so far I like them very much. Perhaps it's the chanson influence, perhaps it's just her style. Frankly I don't care what the lyrics say. I like the way they sound. Specifically I like the unusual way that she emphasizes certain syllables. I also like the music itself. It seems to defy any specific genre. No matter, I like the melodies.
carla is positively 4th street!
en français :"sois belle et tais toi" in english :"be beautiful and shut up" ??
Like the song alright, like her voice....but she kinda sounds like she's on ludes or something. Would much rather hear her sing in her native French.
Very ee cummings.
nothing against Ms. Bruni and merely a suggestion for Bill, can we please have a little more time between Bob Dylan and this...9 out of ten of the segues here are divine..this one doesn't seem up to par...from the master wordsmith and poet Dylan to this pop wannabe second hand english gave me a bad case of the WTFs...thanks
utter crap

It's a woman. I think her name is Carla

Anita Lane with a french accent. But I guess the song is better than a kick in the guts.
A Jane Birkin wannabe. Isn't Carla the one who got pregnant with Mick's baby and then Jerry Hall left him? (yes, I'm ashamed that I know this)
If this lady hasn't a sexy voice, WHO has!?
to me carla bruni sounds italian not scandinavian
she's french, young man!
