This strongly reminds me of French band's Dionysos' latest album, "La mécanique du cœur".
Nice pins for a dude!
At a relatively low volume, the vocals at the beginning fooled me into thinking this was Interpol, though the tune itself is definitely not anything like their stuff.  Silly me.

Well this is not his best album or his best song.

I highly recommend the gospel of progress album (His first) and his latest one with the red empire orchestra is briliant too if somewhat different (he was married during the making of it so a little chirpier)

to get a real understanding of his first album then I suggest reading his life story. Very odd and at times quite horrific.

Been a fan since the first album, the guy is pretty talented and should hopefully go far.

Thanks. I like this album, so I'll have to go get the others...

I like the album but haven't noticed it getting away from this sound. I'll listen again and see if there's much variety on it.

Edit: This is the most upbeat track, but the album does have some variety, and he can sing. He can also sound like Tom Waits.

Also I am sick of it being okay to glorify violence against women.

When does he do that? Confusion reigns in me brain now.

As a follow-up, the music kind of reminds me of 16 Horsepower, which I like.  I'm curious to hear more songs by this guy.  If he can show a bit more vocal range, I think I could get into this guy/group.

Thanks to you slackers, I was forced to go get it myself. 8. Would segue amusingly well with Old 97s "The Other Shoe"
You'll dig a double grave out in the meadow, And you'll curse the rain that turns the dirt to mud. You'll take I-35 south towards Laredo, Then you'll try to find a doctor who can prescribe an elixir That'll make everything better, except your late wife and her lover.
Excellent follow-up to Tom Waits "Chocolate Jesus".
I keep hearing Tom Waits doing this.

True. Power-washing the trunk is a real bear too, but there's just NO other way to get all the blood out. xoxox, c.

This is weird, but good!

That was peculiar, but it could be brilliant.

Is it just me, or does this sound like a New Orleans Polka?
WTF was that? Very cool...
I kinda dug this, the Banjo/Squeezebox combo sounds fun and the singing wasn't half bad. It sounds a bit like the swedish band Garmarna as well as a number of other skilled yokels from the same region.
Here comes the "new" band wave from Bill...cross your fingers !
Never heard of this guy. I likey!!!! Play more.
