Favourite song echoing across our lake in Muskoka Ontario!
I was addicted to the original TV series and this soundtrack. Still have it in my collection. Just soooo good.

Clever how the recording engineer lifted out Tom Waits' vocals from this track.
Spooks me every time I hear it.

Great sound, each track of this cd.

Very evocative, even after all these years I saw the visuals in my mind from the very first notes. Hadn’t realised that the music had made such impact on me.

I first heard this soundtrack when we hijacked my mom's minivan and drove to San Francisco to see Peter Gabriel. I had brought a prissy cheerleader, and my sister had brought a Russian punk rocker physicist named Yorg. Mercifully after a bit of protest about the Skinny Puppy CD he had on, he changed course and put this disc in.
Best name EVER, IMHO....!
God I ve mellow written all over me now. Can I have a dash Miles after this?

This loud obnxious Brit was barking in laughter at his crestfallen friends about the film's brilliant send-up of the American Way of Life. I wanted to punch him and his snotty, better-than-you attitude.

But then I saw the movie again and was amazed at how right he'd been. Lynch knows how to unsettle and disturb. I don't much of Diane Arbus's work but yes that photo has the same effect. Imagine if that kid had been holding a loaded gun: you get the feeling that would've been Diane's last shot.

Saw a double feature - Eraser Head AND Blue Velvet at Cinema Village in NY.  1987 ish.  I had already seen EraserHead so I had some idea what to expect.  My girlfriend was flabbergasted.  Ok, I was too...

Mr Lynch took questions between shows.  Answered everything, disclosed nothing. Not sure he knew himself.

This show set an entire new standard of what was possible on TV.

A standard not even attempted by anyone else for years.

Lynch says that there will be a new version of Twin Peaks in about 1.5 years. Good times.

Mileage is 79,345, gauge is on reserve, I'm riding on fumes here, I've got to tank up when I get into town. Remind me to tell you how much that is. Lunch was $6.31 at the Lamplighter Inn. That's on Highway Two near Lewis Fork. That was a tuna fish sandwich on whole wheat, a slice of cherry pie and a cup of coffee. Damn good food. Diane, if you ever get up this way, that cherry pie is worth a stop.

As a fan of the series, I reckon that each episode is a political and/or social allegory. I couldn't make sense of it as a teen, but as a more politically-conscious adult the allegories fair jumped out at me. Be seeing you.. :)

Easily the weirdest thing I have ever seen on a major network. I still have to give kudos to ABC for airing it at all.

concur.

That was a great show. The recent remake I didn't like so much though, The last episode of the original series is especially strange because McGoohan was pissed about the series being canceled so he pulled out all the stops on the last one to spend a lot of the studios money on something that was intentionally not meant to make sense,

I haven't seen a lot of the episodes of the Prisoner because I don't watch television.  But I do remember that the guardian of the prisoners was creepy.  An innovative idea that was also scary.  And I love the soundtrack of Twin Peaks.  I have the CD.

We got DirecTV a couple of weeks back.  I spent last weekend watching every episode back-to-back on the Chiller channel.  It seemed better 20 years ago, but was fun anyway.

No reflection of song...which is cool...just a comment on the spirit.

You could play this every single day and that would be good with me.

As interesting and quirky as one of the most interesting and quirky shows ever put on TV.  Always loved the groove of the music from the Dual Peaks.
Allways expected Waits to start some wild rant with this cool jazz piece , love it

The "Dance of the Dream Man" scene is one of the very peaks in the history of television.
I hear 'It ain't necessarily so'.
