I find this surprisingly catchy. The mixture of all the light sounds creates quite a soundscape. Love the piano.
Great harmonies, cool groove. Nice job, Deb & Steve!
I've found an archived live recording in which they explain they story of the RIGA GIRLS email. Enjoy! https://www.archive.org/details/weepies_2004-09-18_live_in_ohio.shnf
I listen to the Weepies albums constantly...this one is neat, lots of background textures.
Glad to hear some Weepies at RP Some solo Deb would be nice too

Actually, the way that Steve Tannen explained it at a show, the inspiration was a spam email that he received with the header, "Riga girls go like this." He suspected it was XXX, but curiosity got the better of him, and he clicked the link provided. A bunch of windows then popped up, and his computer crashed. About that time, fellow Weepies singer/songwriter Deb Talan walked into the room.
Thanks for the information :) I just came from Riga and the girls there are amazing indeed. I have to check out the lyrics of this song now for sure :) High five to Steve :)

One of my picks for best albums of 2006. Really a fantastic collaboration of two fantastic singer/songwriters. Worth a purchase!
I'll second that!

Wow... I can't put my finger on it, but within the first few chords of this song, I had to check the playlist to see what group this is. I'm digging the low-key vibe and smiling rhythm. Nice!

I wonder where they got that idea of doing a song of Riga girls? After visiting Riga, I guess.

Girls from Baltic States are hot! I wonder where they got that idea of doing a song of Riga girls? After visiting Riga, I guess. Then they should visit Tallinn too and the song would be merrier
