Well the moon is on the highway, darkness fills the sky.
As long as I keep driving, I know that I won't die.

And I'm gone, gone, gone.
Gone Ridin'.

Well I broke up with my baby, told myself I won't cry.
Broke up with my baby, told myself a lie.

And I'm gone, gone, gone.
Gone Ridin'.
Get gone Cal.

Well the moon is on the highway, darkness fills the sky.
As long as I keep driving, I know that I won't die.

And I'm gone, gone, gone.
Gone Ridin'.
Gone Ridin'.

GREAT!! I love Chris Isaak, but I Never heard this tune before,  Thanx RP!
Between the album cover and the pix in the comments, if there's any more smoldering going on here, Bill's servers might burst into flames.

Heard that! I've seen him twice; at Starlight in KC early 2000s and again at Boulder Theater last year, and the man is one of the most impeccable showmen on Earth. His music rocks, his jokes are funny, he croons like Roy, the gals go nuts when he walks by; ~Bravo~

The way I first learned of Chris is he opened for a Suzanne Vega show when this album first came out. He was impressive!
I also thought it had a Radar Love feel

Was thinking Cheap Trick while listening to this and yes there 'tis tonight: "On Top of the World" uses the same guitar sound-effect.
The bastard child of Elvis Presley and Patsy Cline. Nothing like him before or since.

Showtime owns the rights and they have buried the show under a pile of paperwork from here to eternity.

James Wilsey actually.

Danny Gatton, still loved and missed in his old stomping grounds.

Seemless segue from Baby Please Don't Go.

The guitar player was Calvin James Wilsey. Once he was gone, Chris lost the soul in his sound.

Especially since that that percussive-guitar embellishment is in hundreds of songs before and after "Radar Love".

Surf music + rock n' roll like adding a lemon zing to a drink {#Drummer}
Very nice transition from "Baby Please Don't Go"

More like surf music moved out of the garage and grown up a little.

Ya know, when Chris Isaak first came out with Heart Shaped Box I thought to myself.. this kid could be the new Elvis, I thought he was that good.

He has a very distinctive voice and though country music isn't my thing, there's something very sexy in his twang and I could listen to his rockabilly for hours.

For a real wild tune, check out Baby Did a Bad, Bad Thing....       you won't keep still.

Interesting take on his music, I always thought it was early Elvis (Presley) that he was targeting( or Roy Obison ). In fact I hear a little "That's Alright Mama" in this tune. I think they were going for that Sun Records sound.

This song is from at least two albums PRIOR to the "Wicked Game" record. Nice try, though.

Or she is someone who clearly is not in on the joke that Chris Isaak's persona is and has always been. Duh, lady. He's always been lovingly poking fun at his rockabilly heroes with his suits and his labelled guitar. And he's also been making consistently good records for a very long time. You shouldn't be allowed to review someone who is so much smarter than you. By the way "Gone Ridin'" is about the coolest Chris Isaak song EVER!

From a review of the Chris Isaak show in Salon by Joyce Millman from a few years ago: I've always found Isaak's rockabilly pop just a bit too tidy, his pompadour a bit too unmussed, his sparkly suits a bit too fetishistic, his lonesome-crooner pose a bit too, well, posed. And in "The Chris Isaak Show," Isaak is every bit the priss you'd expect from a guy who has his name spelled out on his guitar and his guitar strap. In the show, Isaak is an earnest and sensitive chick magnet. He aims to please, but women are always storming out of his bedroom in a huff while he stumbles after them with a big question mark hanging over his head. When he's not being dumped, he lounges around the house in perfectly pressed jeans and shirts tucked in just so; he looks like Ricky Nelson waiting for the gang to drop by so he can play them his latest hit single. Chris is so square, his idea of a stiff drink is a tall, cool glass of Tang. He cheerfully makes small talk with his nonfamous neighbors. He puts out his own garbage cans; they have his name on them, just like his guitar. The guy may be a rock star, but, good Lord, he's a crashing bore. I think she pretty much nailed it.

If that is the case, is everything by the Stray Cats a rip-off too? I think not.

Liked him better B4 the TV show (ill judged) but his music has a certain "je ne sais quiche".

Hey dude, tune your guitar before you play. Unless you're like Phil Keaggy who changes tunings in the middle of songs :-) This song, like most other stuff I hear from this dude, is BOOOOOOOOOOring.
An outstanding track from an outstanding album.
Ahhh, the smoke of memories: Chris Isaak at the Anti-Club in LA, playing every week for a month or more. Tiki lanterns hung across the stage and club. That groovy guitar sound.
love him
