Best Coen Brothers movie by far. 

When I recommended "The Big Lebowski" to my rather innocent parents, it'd been a while since I'd watched it. I'd forgotten a lot of the craziness and cursing, including the scene in which Walter Sobchak (John Goodman) smashed the crap out of car with a tire iron while bellowing over and over "This is what happens when you FUCK a stranger in the ass!"

I realized my oversight while watching the movie on the tiny screen attached to a gym treadmill. I started muttering "Oh shit" each time Walter bellowed his lesson, which earned me a few odd looks from my sweaty neighbors... 

My parents actually liked the movie—my dad still giggles when hears the word "fuck", believe it or not. This still cracks him up:

The Stranger: There's just one thing, Dude. 
The Dude: And what's that? 
The Stranger: Do you have to use so many cuss words? 
The Dude: What the fuck you talking about? 
The Stranger: Okay, Dude. Have it your way.

I bought this CD a couple years ago. I think it's an import. Anyway, it has two disks. Same songs on each disk. One is dance (which, to tell you the truth I've never gotten all the way through) and this nice easy listening disk. Kind of a strange idea but to each there own.

Funny, I've seen that film twice and completely forgot that this number appeared in it. At the risk of repeating myself, Hooverphonic are the best thing to come out of Belgium after the beer, and before the chocolate, and I'm forever grateful to RP for introducing me to them. Sadly, their lead singer will be leaving the band soon, and IMO she really make their sound and will be very hard to replace.

I have two versions of Ocean Beach on my iPod - an upbeat version from a CD called "Departure Lounge" and the slower version used on this track called the "Cybophonia Cinematic Remix" from New World Paris, vol 1.  Both are great tracks if you like electronica.

Ahh..Well Frank first I mis-typed - the film is Sexy BEAST. Septic is cockney rhyming slang for an American - septic tank = you can guess the rest. Of course your housing has probably not had to use such primitive sewage disposal methods for a long while, so you may not know what one is.

any rock climbers here? the orchestral sample they use in this is also used in 'absolute limit' on the end of the big up soundtrack, if i remember correctly. and the overall treatment there was almost identical, although her vocal style is a little better here. normally i love finding shared samples or the original tracks, but in both these cases i don't actually like the usage much. hm. not a bad song, no real complaints. -PL-
