Mulvey is a terrific musician and engaging performer— he was  here in Anchorage recently. His recordings don't capture him well. But I still gave this a higher grade than I'd give the U-2 version, which I find bombastic and over-done.

Yeah, well I think that Bono has gotten too high on the path to ascension and lost some if not all of his glory! This is just a good interpretation of a great song. Has a voice that is a cross between Joe Cocker and Ben Harper. I give it a solid 8.

don't know if it's all THAT bad, but i agree it doesn't stand up to the original ... this one lacks the sock-in-my-pants bravado of the u2 version.

Never liked the original. Like this a bit more, which is to say I appreciate it for being different. There is still a good song in there somewhere trying to get out. Maybe someday someone will find it. I still haven't found what I'm looking for.

I thought I was hearing Harry Manx on the guitar when I heard this. The style and sound is somewhat similar. I wonder what kind of guitar he's using? It has that sound of the Veena (sort of a combination guitar / sitar, comes from India). Just wondering... steve
