I saw these guys from OZ play a show at Shibuya Club Quattro in maybe 2003 or 4 — it was a real jammer, until the singer went manic, accusing someone of messing with the tuning of his guitar and storming off the set, effectively ending it. Until then, amazing...
Unhurried and with good harmonies. I like it! "...I love you yeah, yeah...!"

I like it!  {#Yes}
I know I could look it up, but what's new with these guys.  I really liked their breakthrough LP.
This flower's scorched, this film is on... As others have pointed out, it's basically Country Feedback reloaded. Still pleasant enough. Also quite interesting how almost everyone hears another artist in this - apparently you can't blame The Vines for having a too original style {#Wink}
Not a bad thing - sounds a lot like The Dandy Warhols.
"Two weeks in a Virginia jail, for my lover, for my lover...." Sounds like Tracy Chapman to me.

I thought they sounded like Turin Brakes, but not as good...
Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa {#Puke}
too jangly
Something in the background of this song sounds like the sound effects when Steve Austin was running.
Nice song choice from this album Bill! You have aural vision ;-)

Sounds like Kurt Cobain on meds.
uh Kurt Cobain was on meds - of a sort And yes I loved their breakthrough record -dared to say it was Nirvan-like with more of Nirvana's Beatles-like melody and less of Nirvana's- Pixies like frenzy
Sounds like Kurt Cobain on meds.

yup. it plods and yawns.
I love this song!

:nod: Me too, but in a good way. 8
My favorite song of the record and the reason I bought it. Had it in my iPod last summer on a trip thru Paris and this song always reminds me... I was surprised to find out that the rest of the album doesn't sound like this at all. More 80's Brit-pop than stuff I usually listen to, but a good record all the same.

holy Shyte this is the Vines??? .. well I'll be...

I came here to make a comment that this sounded like Country Feedback... but it looks like 498 people beat me to it. At least I'm not hearing things...
the song did seem familiar instantly, as if they had lifted the idiom of another chord change from something in my long past... but at the same time, it touched a part of me that did just want to sway and be enfolded in the arms of their warm touch... it was beautiful, but i feel i shall suck the power out of this song by repetitive play much too quickly and will try to limit myself to 3 times in a night.... hate it when the musik i love loses its power to move me... huggles, saba

double ditto. would be interesting to hear them lined up, with the REM song as an outro...
couldn't agree more, not more than a 5

say what you want; but every time I hear this song, I jump to see who it is. 8 => 9.

doesn't the lead singer have some medical condition? i think it's the kind of condition that makes you afraid of people. and failure. and unicorns.
and Transformers? More than meets the eye, you know. As for the medical condition, if you wanna know about Asperger's Syndrome, just ask AphidA, he's got all the info. Nothing off this album is blowing me away. Pretty good seems to be the theme.
Sounds like Oasis.

When are these guys going to stop being such sissies and start touring again? Anybody know?

Does anyone else hear R.E.M.'s Country Feedback in this?
Definitely! The intro got me all excited about a new version of "Country Feedback" I never heard. Not that this song is bad, but they're simply not in the same league.
Amazing lyrics: uuuuuuuu, aaaaaaaaa, ayeiyeiyeeeeee.

Yeah - I could sing along "you wear me out...you - wear - me - out."
Music for the dentist's chair.
I have heard this song frequently over the last few days on RP. Perhaps it's getting over played?

Can't say that I do but if I could hear any REM in there it would be on mute

Sorry but, that guy sounds nothing like micheal stipe!

Their first album (Highly Evolved) is very, very good.
Second that. One of the best albums of whatever year that was...took me by surprise.
Excellent writing and chord structure/progression...+ the enginnering is simply first rate! Without the post production I give it a low 8. With this quality that becomes a 9. S~

me thinks a little too similar...

Enough of this sound already.
Hearing this on RP has made me go back and listen again to this album, which I bought when it came out but hadn't had time for. And now it hasn't left my cd player in days -- very solid!

These guys were damn good in concert (the tour during their 1st album).
