Well, I wasn't planning to look at the lyric until I saw Shimmer's posting by chance (I'm tryin'a work, dang it!); so this 16-years-later response is per the great oracle Wikipedia: The title of "So Begins Our Alabee" refers to the couple's daughter, Alabee Barnes... An interesting odyssey, indeed, and quite far along by now!

I saw Of Montreal in concert and it was SO cool Kevin Barnes (the frontman) came out in a wedding dress and asked us to marry him. After the show the whole band signed my converse all stars. SEE THEM
