Does it make you happy to ignore me on streets?
I guess by now you think I'm weak
I wish you would have said something before now
I wouldn't share a bag of chips with you
And in my opinion you don't have a clue
I'm being cruel, I'm being cruel

I don't want to be part of your scene
I'll stay with him, I'll keep my nose clean

You're the one pretending to be licking stamps
All alone in a room following lines on maps
It's clear you don't want me here
How about I send you a book on nutrition?
Stop spoon-feeding me non-fiction
Just for a while, I will fake a smile

I don't want to be part of your scene
I'll stay with him, I'll keep my nose clean

Oh, why did you say she was a friend of mine?
I thought it was me you couldn't stand
I'm confused, I will win, you will lose
You've taken to phoning my house when you're drunk
And then confessing all your love
I wish you would have said so before now

I don't want to be part of your scene
I'll stick with him, I'll keep my nose clean

I suspect the Wikipedia feed doesn't do more than just get the first page, if there is one, for the band's name. In this case, we learn about a simple camera. It should link to : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camera_Obscura_(band)
Dire!  Come on RP you do better than this!

Yes, another Glaswegian; I assume these band members are fans of her work in "Gregory's Girl" and with Altered Images.

easy to see them dancing on the grass to this ditty

Guess she's keeping her nose clean after shedding all those tears from her last affairs.

How very Belle And Sebastian.

The two bands have worked together - they're both based in Glasgow.  Stuart Murdoch, from Belle & Sebastian, produced their first album.
How very Belle And Sebastian.

Nope, only good pool music when I keep it clean..

I believe that Belle and Sebastian are also from Glasgow, or at least Scotland.

Lovely, a wee treat for anyone who loves the twee Glasgow music scene. ;-)
I give songs like this a 7.
gash...as they say in these parts...{#Puke}

Not really.  I told you a million times not to exaggerate.

Nice little song, but please cut back on the ironic, retro hipsterism at the next photo shoot.
But the recording contract clearly states...

It is a nice little song, isn't it?

I like them...and I really like their hats!! (smiley face with knitting needles.)

Luckily for those who don't have coffee houses with live bands in their neighbourhoods, we can listen to our Camera Obscura CDs on our stereos {#Smile}.

That's a loootta caffeine there dude.

A very pleasant voice.

like there's really something wrong with having a Belle and Sebastian sound
As noted, a total Belle & Sebastien soundalike. Still pretty good though.

the local show tonight is apparently sold out :(
I saw them on Saturday and was blown-away. These guys are a great band.
A dangerous combination ;^)
Something about this...just sounds...soo...good...
Total B&S old school. Like it though.
This is wonderful stuff!
This my favorite album of the year so far. So lush and beautiful, I just find my self swept away by each song. A smile just grows bigger on my face as the song progresses. Thank you Camera Obscura for making my day a little happier.
DIG THOSE INDIE NERDS MAAAAAAN...AHAHA
I'm pretty sure that the deus-ex-machina is the teddy bear! definitely!

Don't forget pretentious. They're probably pretentious. Especially since the band name is, like, Latin and stuff. So they've got to be pretentious. -mt-
This groove landed a 6.5 with me, but the album title pushed it to 7.

LOL. Brilliant.
Yes, it's similar to B&S -- I think Murdoch helped produce. But nevertheless -- a very good album that more than stands on its own merit.
Nice little song, but please cut back on the ironic, retro hipsterism at the next photo shoot.

Ahh, I don't know...Not much life to this...
A catchy little ditty, this is.

I thought it was nice. It has that sort of laid back sound like when Isobel Cambell sang on the older Belle and Sebastian songs.
I thought it was Belle & Sebastian w/Isobel, actually... this is very good.

There are probably going to be a lot of people who don't like this song. I can anticipate the comments now: Too: soft, fluffy, derivative, the vocals are too thin, etc... I like it anyway. This simple retro sound with the unpolished, but sincere and vulnerable female voice just appeals to me on some level. They remind me of that band with the song about the San Diego zoo. Since they are from Scotland I assume ther is no connection.
What's with the facination with tinnie keyboards and guitars? This sounds like Death Cab with chics.
