I remember watering the plants at the local nursery last year, and listening to the Bob and Tom show on the radio, through headphones. They had Ms. Tunstall in the studio, and she did the most incredible, wonderful performance, explaining a lot of things. And she was so funny, she had B&T stupefied. She's rather astonishing, in addition to being talented and worldly-wise.

I'm a total fan. This gets a 9, only because I know she's done better work that will get a 10. Rock on, KT - you've earned your kudos!{#Sunny}

I was up in Orkney last week where yer woman will be playing in August, and tix for her gig sold out within minutes, with folk queuing from 6am to get them from a local record shop. Not surprising as she's very popuplar up in Scotland, and indeed elsewhere. I'd love to see her live but fat chance that she'll come down to the deep South.

Love, love, love, love, love, love, love this. KT's music would be some of the only music I would consistently vote 11/10 - her voice is simply sublime to listen to, she's a talented singer songwriter and (as a Brucie Bonus) she's not offensive to look at either!

Everything about her musical creations chimes with me on many levels, and I can't believe that ETTT came out six years ago. I still listen to it several times a week. Blimey.

Her performance is outstanding.  For such a physically small person, she has dominating stage presence.  I said exactly the same thing, the first time I saw Ani DiFranco.  She shares that special something with her, as a live performer.

What do you mean? She's hugely famous or hugely talented - true? I'm getting the feeling you think she's huge in size which is probably not true unless you are really small and you mean that comparitively! Just for a quick check on that take a look at the jacket of "Drastic Fantastic" and compare her physique in relation to the Fender Mustang, is it? I believe she's 5'2"! Hugely good music tho!

Rather ignorant statement, no matter where you live. You do realize that at various times such rubbish as led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, have been fully mainstream on the radio, don't you? Somehow these groups are considered legitimate today on this very station! Either this means that rubbish becomes valued with time (and pressure maybe, much as peat can become coal), or you actually have it all wrong. Just possibly.

I would agree that K.T. is mainstream while also noting that "mainstream" doesn't necessarily mean "bad." Sometimes great musicians become very popular (it doesn't exactly seem like a stretch). I do concede that over-exposure has its negative effects on the music itself, but I don't really find KT Tunstall to be "over-exposed" at this point. Then again, i avoid commercial radio like it's got herpes, so what do i know?

NPR's Weekend Edition - Saturday, February 4, 2006 ยท Music fans across the pond have known about Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall since last year, when her album Eye to the Telescope raked in critical praise and she was nominated for Britain's new-music honor, the Mercury Prize. Now, Tunstall's album is getting a Stateside release, Feb. 7. Part of what draws attention to her is the live performances: She's a one-woman band, literally. Using a looping machine operated by pedal, Tunstall records and plays back harmonies, guitar and percussion all in real time. Among other things, Tunstall says, the technique helps her "escape the stigma attached to 'the girl with the guitar.'" While she threads together different instrumentation in her songs, Tunstall also calls on a variety of influences. saw this girl perform in Conan O'Brien by herself. She makes her own loops right there! She was fantastic! plus... she's hot!

I bought and I dig. The video from the Today show that comes with the iTunes album is a great sample of her style and talent. She seems very cool.

Bought this album after hearing her songs on RP. Quite good, really. She has her own sound. Some sound a little "country"ish, but the whole album doesn't really have that tone.
