Midnight here and I'm all alone again
Chain smoking and I'm in my bed
I just wanna disappear here inside of me
Ride out the hopelessness in my head

What you doing with your life you ask me
Baby you're not good enough for me
What's the matter with you, you keep asking
Can't you do better for me, better for me
Can't you do better for me better for me

Black hood up and I'm walking out the door
Head phones on and my beats up loud
Don't you wanna know how I'm truly feeling here
I don't think you do somehow
Who the hell do you think you are, you say
Don't you know that you've got no rights
While you're living under my roof you know
Dum ba de doobe dad dum dum die die

There's a million reasons why I'm feeling down today
Still I wonder if I'll ever feel the same again
Seen a million situations should put me in my place
Guaranteed there's a million more yet to come up in my face

I've gotta change my ways
24 hour life crisis
Burning me up
Burning me inside
I've gotta find my way
24 hour life crisis
Burning me up burning me inside, I've

Gotta get up from here
Gotta get up from here
Gotta get up
I've gotta get up from here

Today and I'm taking control again
Patch on my arm in the bright sunlight
There's no way that I'm gonna go under now
Plenty of ways to make a wrong right
No more negative thinking around me
I don't wanna live my life that way
There's too many good people to compensate
All the energy lost
All my energy

There's a million reasons why I'm feeling down today
Still I wonder if I'll ever feel the same again
Seen a million situations should put me in my place
Guaranteed there's a million more yet to blow up in my face

I've gotta change my ways
24 hour life crisis

Burning me up
Burning me inside
I've gotta find my way
24 hour life crisis
Burning me up burning me inside, I've

Gotta get up from here
Gotta get up from here
Gotta get up
I've gotta get up from here

I totally agree, it's rejuvenated the station!

Wow - I thought this was Alanis Morissette as soon as the song started.

A lot weak.
Isn't it ironic, just how like Alanis I sound? Yes, everyone's sick of her whining, but I just know the listening public will open to my sound! Yes they will. Come on folks, give 'er a 10. Because she deserves it. She's good enough, she's smart enough, and - gosh darnit - people like her! I will now go puke.
Definately not feeling it this afternoon.

And a LOT of repetition of a lick too simple and not clever enough to bear it.

I like this one too (probably because I also like Alanis). So many great musicians have commented that writing a good pop song is really, really difficult. This is a good pop song, with a pleasant vocal performing it. I just don't understand the violent negative reactions here. This song fits in well with the other material on RP. OPEN YOUR MINDS, FOLKS!
Yeah, what she said! Seriously, I definitely heard the Alanis similarity the minute the vocals started, but I like Alanis, so that wasn't a bad thing for me. Makes me want to hear more by Ellie Lawson.
A little weak.
Oh god no.
If Alanis were singing it would youz like it any more? I though it was decent/okay no matter which one was singing.
Hey Bill, Can you play the doorbell again. This station freaks me out! Oh and get the door. It's probably publishers clearinghouse.

Everyone has influences. It's narly impossible for an artist to create new work without being at least vaguely reminescent of something that's already been done. Having said that, this is the second tune I've heard from Ms. Lawson, both of which sound like they were ripped right from Jagged Little Pill. Influences are fine, but at least try to add at least a shred of originality.!

Well said Skindy... and I agree with you

Definitely Alanis but Joni? Perhaps in her tone but song and lyric writing no way. Ellie Lawson needs to move away from the 'Alanis' sound.

Sounds a lot like Alanis on her second album, this is not a bad thing either. Good stuff girl!
painful
Some songs you hang onto the poetry, some songs you hang onto the spirit... this is the latter.
man, I hate this song and I hate when they post the lyrics as a comment.
Started out great - the verses are fantastic, but the the chorus really drag on. A voice like this shouldn't repeat on and on like that... Gotta get up from here and... go to the bathroom.
hear a cross between alanis m. & joni m.
That is the cheese!

It's the ATTACK OF THE ALANIS CLONES!!!
Better than the Attack of the Pop Female Vocalists of the Ashlee Simpson/Hilary Duff/Lindsey Lohan/Etc./Etc./Etc. ilk.
whiny

torture..
L.A. Lawson? Don't mind me... Not sure I like this one. I hear the similarity to Alanis's voice, but might not have done so if I hadn't read the comments below.

I've got no problem with it... Just because it's catchy and has good production values and sounds like Alanis does not mean it should disliked... I'd have to hear it more...
Sorry folks - gotta give this one the thumbs down. I sense she has potential, but this song isn't showing me much.
