The banjos were ominous, but it was the just out of tune whistling that got me reaching for the mute button. I've never liked whistling on songs...

I agree.  I like Mumford & Sons, but the Avett Brothers have been along much longer and have a bunch of great albums.  Great band to see live.

Always impressed when a band can make me like their version of a genre that I don't much like otherwise. The RP tracks from their newest album don't show their fun side, as this track does. Here's a Youtube video in the same vein, featuring some brutal key changes (I think) that are perfect!

Great to hear these guys on Radio Paradise. I've been a fan for years. They're huge in their home state of North Carolina simply because they kick ass live. Definitely catch this band when they visit your home town.
