Lost love in the desert
Lost love on the sea
If you can put it behind you
But it's still beyond me

'Cause hearts break in the summer
And they meet me in the spring
Broken hearts all around me
But I don't feel a thing

Lost love on the highway
Lost love on the phone
Lost love with a suitcase
Heading back home

Where hearts break in the summer
And they meet in the spring
Mine's still wrapped inside me
But I don't feel a thing

You're my lost love, I can't see
That you're coming back for me
You're the trouble I can't find
And it's only a matter of time

Should've taken it all so hard
Should've taken it all so hard

My lost love
My lost love
My lost love
My lost love

And a +1 here for the highly subjective "+1 for a cool band name" award.

Golden Smog should have their own blog..

Jeff Tweedy has a blog, unfortunately not called the London Fog Blog, rather Starship Casual. https://jefftweedy.substack.co...
the distinctive fine voice of tweedy

Golden Smog should have their own blog..

Ah, that episode.

Me like!

Jeff Tweedy of Wilco is the singer, that's why.

Are you Wilco in disguise? Same cracked/er voice, same tedium, same thin instrumentals. Snoresville {#Sleep}

Surprisingly, it's from 1933.

Illustration by the great Margaret Brundage.  Oh, good song too.

Wow.  The original illustration is even weirder.  I love it — the hat makes the outfit.

I love Tweedy\'s country / midwestern shoegaze style. Wilco has become a favorite band these days.
Only ordered a coupla Golden Smogs the otha day afta talkin' to a friend 'bout them :curtains: Are you telepathic Bill?
I like the song, even though I'm not a great fan of Wilco. I love the cover though!
Look...The emotothingie claps to the music...
Got a nice Kinks feel to it. Catchy!
Sounds like Ray Davies to me. I thought it was some obscure Kinks song until I looked...
I thought I heard a new release was coming out from these guys this year.
Oh yeah Tweedy...How many bands has he had?
"I thought I thaw a putty tat!"
Should be called weird cover! Cool sound though.
Kind of an awkward band and a little too spacy for me. Don't like lyrics very mutch. Blahhhhhhhh.
Both Smog CD's are excellent although the first gets the nod for being original. Tweedy's energy and talent knows no bounds.

what happened in weeks 1 and 2?? I thought this sounded like Tweedy...now I know why. he's got one of those voices you recognize instantly. good stuff.
I love this band! This is great CD...lots of humor, tales of the ups & downs of life and fantastic guitar pickin'. Jayhawks members and Tweedy...a great combo! Thanks uploader!
I forgot Tweedy did this. Has a moment of confusion when I looked up to see the name of the song and it didn't say Wilco. I'll take it either way.
hello, im catwoman. im covering up my armpit hair. ayyye!!
Tweedy should have even more side projects. ...As long as Wilco is his #1 project.
Yeah, my song got added! I thought RP was missing this band! This is what happens when the Jayhawks meet Wilco meet Soul Asylum. The Superband of the century! Every song has its own influences! Too bad I doubt they will ever reform for another record, but it was fun while it lasted! Gets a 10!
A little to much twang to my liking. It receives a week 3.
Another on of my Top 10 "stranded on a island" or "insanely long road trip" must haves. Brilliant.
I thought I was a Wilcophile, but I had no idea Tweedy was in a band called Golden Smog in 2001. This sounds so much like Wilco, I shall give this Wilco song a solid 7.
