What's this game that you're playing
When you stand out of reach?
Do your sums before you run
The brightest stones make the brightest beach

This towns got nothing for me
Cheap shots and bad jewelery
Just want to be where everyone's free

Lemonade on the sidewalk, gives us time to talk
In a great big place
Season to season with the moon and its reason

This towns got nothing for me
Cheap shots and bad jewelery
Just want to be where everyone's free, everyone's free

Free, I stand to make believe
Free, free, free

Lyrics don't match up - I think these are correct:

Ela é minha menina
E eu sou o menino dela
Ela é o meu amor
E eu sou o amor todinho dela
The silver moon is out of sight
And the golden sun has come
A beautiful new day is born
Scented with joy
'Cause I fell asleep and awoke thinkin' of her
Pois ela é minha menina
E eu sou o menino dela
Ela é o meu amor
E eu sou o amor todinho dela
The rose bush has blossomed out
And I've seen that she's my rose
For her I'd place my heart before
Reasons I tell
Everybody in the world that I love her
Pois ela é minha menina
E eu sou o menino dela
Ela é o meu amor
E eu sou o amor todinho dela
A minha menina
A minha menina
A minha menina
Mutantes!!! quero ouvir a original
Why you never play the original recording with Os Mutantes? Just because they are brazilians and you never play brazilian music with brazilian singers and musicians? Why?

Sometimes a song hits you at the right moment.

On this Friday morning, this sounds great.  An 8.

I am still half-sure that this is really Adam Sandler.

I watch more TV shows on my computer than my TV. Hope you're dancing above with us, Cynaera.

Band of skulls, band of horses and now band of bees. How about Band of bands?
{#Arghhh}
Wow!  A song from one of the seminal groups in Brazilian rock history, Os Mutantes!  Not a bad cover...
C'mon, Bill. You HAVE to play Loggin's 'House at Pooh Corner' next!

smiles and toe-taps every time

Yea, I tried to upload some Os Mutantes (this is their song) and it was rejected as well.{#Sad}
No as good as the Os Mutantes original, but still a great song nevertheless!{#Meditate}
this is WILD! I kinda like it. {#Dancingbanana}
This song's author is Jorge Ben (Jor) and it was recorded originally by Os Mutantes at the end of 60's. Tag: Brazil in Paradise.
I still REALLY love this song, but I have to say the rest of the album sucks.
Obrigado!
Belíssima versão para a música do mestre Jorge Benjor.

Parabéns radioparadise

If it wasn't for the world of commerce and - heaven forbid! - people making money  - you would not be able to enjoy this lovely radio station or your free internet.

Quit bitchin about recording artists being paid to have their songs played over commercials -which loads do - and enjoy the music.

A Minha Menina....ABoB channeling Os Mutantes!!

That's like saying those who are apposed to burglary are attempting to hobble individuals from finding creative ways to make money.

If removing TV hobbles a musician's ability to make money then, like a lame horse, said musician might just need to be taken out back and put out of his misery. Plenty get by without it and it's a silly reason to keep TVs around.

heh, I am just reading about "The All Bee Band" that lead to The Blue Brothers.
Good cover, the singer's accent on the portuguese lyrics makes it funny, but the original is better.
I give it a solid 'B'

It's funny this gets played after an old Kinks song. When I first heard it I thought it WAS an old Kinks recording!
This is so frackin' cool...
Really digging this too!

Try LA's KCRW. You'd hear the original song, even!

This is actually a pretty decent cover of a big 60's hit by Brazilian psychedelic band Os Mutantes. Kudos to RP for playing it!

One second I want to like it, the next I don't.

Strange.

This isn't the original, is it?  I thought it was different from what I heard on that Happy Meal commercial during the olympics...

I am here to reaffirm my previous "Sucko Barfo" rating for this song. It's that lame guitar riff that keeps repeating over and over and over...
The start of it reminds me of the song Chaplin sang in "Modern Times."
this gets played at my next barbecue

Looks a little like the gimp in Pulp Fiction, doesn't it? Anyway, I *love* this, and I also love the original. Shame none of my friends appreciate it :-/ EDIT: on second thought, the cover looks like Kinnikuman!
I dunno what it is, but I like it!

Esqueleto (as in skeleton), but you're close. "I don't think I can lift you. You are too fat." Pretty good, anyway. I read the title and thought it was the "Mahna Mahna" tune from the Muppets that Cake covers.

great great song. But why no Os Mutantes?

Not as good as the original (a 10, of course), but quite an excellent cover, thusly: 9. For my money, Os Mutantes is the least known but most influential group in the last half century.
for me, this went from pretty good to pretty grating pretty fast
Naaachhhhooooooooooo!
Just got this cd and the Best of Os Mutantes (with the original version of this song) today from Amazon. First Impressions: -- Band of Bees' version is slightly better but it's probably an age-thing. Theirs sounds more modern, more rock. Os Mutantes is a bit slower, psych-rock. -- the rest of the Band Of Bees cd sounds nothing like this. It's all sleepy jazz. Ok if you like that sort of thing but a let down all the same. -- Os Mutantes lives up to the hype. Some great 60s psych-rock with a latin beat twist.

Hmm... I guess my irony was too deep for the board. "There are two erors in this sentence." It's a self-referential paradox. The first error is the spelling error. The second error is that there's only one error. So, it's true if and only if it's false and it's false if and only if it's true. Get it?
