KUDOS to stagehands!!! They make music happen!!! They build the the stage, assist the sound and light companies (doing MOST of the assembly work) & last but not least, assist the riggers, suspending the speakers and lighting system from the ceiling!!!

Right?! I was at a Paul Simon concert at Wa Mu Theater in Seattle, soaking in the 'The Sound of Silence' when some Yahoo just had to yahoo for all of us to hear. It's The Sound of f***ing Silence for God's sake!!

I see where you're coming from, especially from a listener of a live recording point of view. But as an amateur rock musician, stirring people enough to cheer me on while I play is pretty cool. Granted, for other, quieter genres like classical, maybe not so much. But Pearl Jam definitely qualifies as rock, and I'd hazard a guess that McReady probably dug it.

Your problem may be more with the mixing of this live album. Ever been to an early 1990's Pearl Jam (or similar) concert? The entire thing is loud.
The "quiet parts" are just the parts where, if you scream as loud as you can, the stranger that you are crammed nuts-to-butts against just might hear you.

The guitar solo on this is sooooo good. Turn it up to 11 and rate it the same.

I remember when this band broke out. I was a college freshman - this was their time. I've been saddened by all the deaths of musicians of that era. I'm so glad that this band still sustains. Vedder very much reminds me of Neil Young.

Just in - Greg Allman dead at 69. He stopped touring earlier this year due to health issues. One of the greats.

Dang this song, band is amazing! Like it's easy to pick out 1 or 2 musicians from a group normally but not Pearl Jam...the whole is just as talented as a part. Amazing!

Sorry but that is just your opinion. You cannot generalize it. The music was always be and always will be about personal taste and matching energy. Nobody can tell you "this is good" or "this is bad". If some song makes you happy than it's good ,and that's it.

I gave the song a 4, but the crowd sure seemed easily impressed. I imagined they'd yawn if they heard Peter Ostroushko on the mando. They made a lot of money though so they must be good.
