Hated it the first minute, then rated 7. Great when you're high.

What changed?

In my opinion, there has just been a lot of new stuff added, and not much of this kind of music being produced in the meantime.  It's sad that people "have to be stoned to hear all the details" of this kind of music.

Seconded. I don't rate this number as "blech" but I agree with your general point, which is that an 'eclectic' station will naturally include numbers which will be sucko-barfos to some listeners, and that that's a damn good thing. Better music that gets a reaction than the bland pre-chewed corporate McMusic regurgitated to us by FM radio. Long live sucko-barfos :o)

I have noticed many times that some songs simply get better within the context of Radio Paradise. Some songs I have added to my own playlists because I liked them on RP, just “don't work” outside of the context of Bill's magically crafted playlists. I don't like this particular one enough to add it to my own collection and I'm pretty sure it would irritate me if I did, but on RP somehow it is more enjoyable. I think this proves how good of a station this is, the whole is definitely better than the sum of the components.
Whoa haven't heard this in a long while!
Great, great album. Accompanied many drives in the valley back then. Try it!
Not the best off this album, and the album is not exactly chock-full of good songs (in my opinion), but the ones that are good put this easily in my top 10 favorite albums of all time.  Suzuki was shockingly fresh and unique at the time, and was a truly life-changing album for me.

Chee, cheech, and coke?{#Propeller}
A bit off the beaten path, but hey, that's why I listen in here................

Me, too ... great number-crunching music!

Okay, I rated this song really low. But I want to temper that with the comment that Radio Paradise would be less than it is if it didn't including things like this. I'm constantly delighted to know that I can tune in here and know that I'll hear something I've never heard before, and some things that I really don't care for much. So ... thank you, R.P.! And ... blech. :) Mojo

I actually rather like this - but partly because it fulfils its function so well. It is essentially wallpaper music (unless you're stoned, then every detail becomes fascinating) but there is nothing wrong with wallpaper music and it can be useful. There is so much excellent and very engaging music on RP that I appreciate a break now and then so I can concentrate on something else for a bit. Except this time I haven't because I've written this....

Gesundheit!

The background might be a little less irritating if I knew what the guy was chanting - anyone got a translation, or even know what language he's using?

chill song

I had no idea RP had Tosca in their rotation. Sweet.

It's "How Deep is Your Love", and no.

Outstanding!
ahh love it.. longtime fan of K&D.. RP used to play like 10-15% trip hop a few years ago before things changed..

would way way WAY rather hear this than kate bush and porcupine tree ad nauseam...
Nice ambiance. 9 thumbs up.
Good point on how RP should play all genres - even if they grate on my nerves like nails on a blackboard - like this one.

I totaly agree with Mojo from LA. We can heard some quite unknown artists here, and this is good. Bravo!

Kruder and Dorfmeister you mean.

Tosca is Richard Dorfmeister and Rupert Huber.

This is so much better than the Jethro Tull and New Pornographers that's been playing so frequently.

Play this loud and things might change... :) Like it a lot, strange but captivating.
The vocals sound like some of the background used by Gorillaz.

Tosca has achieved something unique here. Boring and annoying at the same time.
I wish I had something to light up with.... V smooth and loving to the ears...
Very soothing! I'm in the middle of a guitar repair on one of my 12-strings and this is good music to wire up the ax with ... now where are those wire cutters?
This is nice.
surfing in slow motion. outstanding.

This jazzy coffeehouse music has always bugged me. It's annoyingly pretentious afterhours drivel that they play at insufferably hip LA hotspots like Skybar. Compare this to Dusted's "Always Remember To Respect and Honor Your Mother." Now THAT'S afterhours music.

Your description is Soooooo Good!
'Boss On The Boat' is the best track from this CD. A little heavy on the repetitive sound bites but the music is very cool. I'm glad I bought it.

Whoever chose this album cover couldn't have been more right: these guys are just empty suits.

Sit back, shut your eyes, open your mind and let the sound wash over your being and carry you downstream-aahhhhhhh. Turn off your mind relax and float down-stream, It is not dying, it is not dying, Lay down all thought surrender to the void, It is shining, it is shining. That you may see the meaning of within, It is speaking, it is speaking, That love is all and love is ev'ryone, It is knowing, it is knowing. When ignorance and haste may mourn the dead, It is believing, it is believing, But listen to the color of your dreams, It is not living, it is not living. Or play the existence to the end. Of the beginning, of the beginning. Of the beginning. Of the beginning.
If it were simply the elevator music, then it might be tolerable, but the nasty "vocalizations" are boring, repetitive and very annoying. Far from chilling me out they produce the opposite reaction.

Actually they are bath robes. I presume they've just been washing each others ball sacks.
We sure have gotten boring with the last few picks.

Mellow. But you've gotta be worried when the album cover is far more creative.
Tosca is just a class act and this is an impressive chillout album.

You got it. Tosca is great stuff, but best as background music. But since I'm at work it's perfect!
