You're in control
Is there anywhere you want to go?
You're in control
Is there anything you want to know?
The future's for discovering
The space in which we're traveling

From the top of the first page
To the end of the last day
From the start in your own way
You just want somebody listening to what you say
It doesn't matter who you are

Under the surface trying to break through
Deciphering the codes in you
I need a compass, draw me a map
I'm on the top, I can't get back

Whooooaaa, whooooaaa

The first line on the first page
To the end of the last page (you were looking)
From the start in your own way
You just want somebody listening to what you say
It doesn't matter who you are
It doesn't matter who you are

You just want somebody listening to what you say
You just want somebody listening to what you say
It doesn't matter who you are
It doesn't matter who you are

Is there anybody out there who
Is lost and hurt and lonely too?
Are they bleeding all your colours into one?
And if you come undone
As if you've been run through
Some catapult had fired you
You wonder if your chance will ever come
Or if you're stuck in square one

I saw these guys front row centre when they toured this album. The show opened with this song.
This album released in 2005. Nice band.
I love these guys.
"Square One"...an ode to Chris Martin.
I still like the 40 Year Old Virgin sequence..."you know I how I know you're gay?" "You listen to Coldplay"
guilty pleasure. . .

the resemblance between Coldplay and U2 is slim... No one who has really listened to to both would mention them in the same sentence.
The guitar does sound a bit Edgeish though.

Reduced to mediocrity...
Who saw them and who see them now. Best regards from Spain.
A simple copy of U2. They deserve a 0
A Coldplay song which I didn't know before! Again, it's a great one!
A quote from Chris Martin, on Radiohead: "We're like an eager dog just yapping around their heels, and they're trying to kick us away. It's like unrequited love. I'm in love with a lot of things. Some of those things love me back. And some of them don't -- and one of them is Radiohead."
A very good pop band

not a bad CD but this isn't a very good song
More Coldplay please! I mean, c'mon, once almost every hour is NOT ENOUGH! Seriously. this is getting freaking ridiculous. Do they own stock in RP? I listen to RP to avoid this kind of "shove a band down your throat" programing mentality. Give it a rest.

Count me out. Sorry guys, a square 1 from me.
Quite .... this is SO tired. However, I think Coldplay will quit after this one
It seems like U2 gets credit any time a band utilizes any form of echoey guitar/singing? Do they really deserve that much credit just because they POPularized it?
Wondered where they'd go, think I'll check this album out. Maybe it's me, I thought I detected a little homage to Frank Zappa in bits of the geeetaring.
Not the best song on this new album but an enjoyable tune nonetheless. I think they lead off with this song because it has lots of changes and variety as it goes along. You can hear some big time U2 influence on this song (and album).
Count me out. Sorry guys, a square 1 from me.
count me in too! :) ploafmaster wrote:
