Big, huge difference. All that said, I've never heard a bad song on RP. In fact in the 3+ years I've been dialing in, I've heard more new bands and new ideas than I thought possible for any radio format to deliver. Not all of them are compelling enough to make one rush out to buy the CD, but there's never a lack of options. It's eclectic--what it's supposed to be. If Bill tried to please everyone, then RP would become one of Clear Channel's hopelessly formulaic urban formats. Yuck. Add to that a 192kbps audio stream, the best I've yet encountered on the net, and the fact that it's FREE (if you're so inclined) and you've got a really neat corner of the universe to play in. How cool is that?

This has some soul to it, but repeating "small town" more than a dozen times in a song brings back all too painful memories of John Mellenchumps crap small-town song.

This song is to Joni Mitchell what emo bands like My Chemical Romance are to the Stooges: poor imitations with trite lyrics and composition.

At first I thought it was Joni Mitchell.

This song is a pretty good synopsis of what it's like growing up in a small town. I like it.

I was going to up my rating but I realized why this song rubs me the wrong way: I keep hearing echoes of Wang Chung's "Dance Hall Days" twisted in there especially at the beginning of the chorus. "Take your baby by the hand.... Dance hall days love!..." Ok, so it could just be me...

I love October Project, thank you for putting them on the playlist! However.. this is not one of their strongest songs, and the album, as mentioned below, October Project, is by far a much better collection of songs.

Never heard of these guys before. And now I know why! :headshake:

Incredible band that is, alas, no more. Of the two discs, October Project, is more fully thought out.
