Just a comment, but there seems to be alot of Talking Heads songs being played.

In my opinion, the band was good but not great, especially to justify over-playing of alot of their mediocre songs.

Funny. I've loved the Heads since Fear was released. I think this album is one of their best efforts.

But like me mum said: That's what makes for horse racing.

Baba? That's a fine little tune and she had the smarts - like a lot of other modestly-talented stars - to hire the best backup band that she could afford. See also: Sting.

BTW, it's spelled "whose" in that usage.

They released True Stories and Naked after this, and while True Stories was at best a modest improvement, Naked was a real return to form.

But yes, this was a disappointment, and "Television Man" was surely one of the least interesting tracks on this record.

I don't know, I think this is a pretty solid track. Maybe it doesn't have the artsy cache of their first 4 albums, and sure it sounds polished, but this is still great music. Everyone (including me) tends to judge new artists against the rest of the pack, whereas established acts get the extra scrutinty of comparisions to their best work. But sometimes this unfairly diminishes above-average music. Just relax and enjoy!

As a man who really enjoys Rush, I understand just how wacked out it is to criticize the sound of any band's singer... But there's something just snotty enough in David Byrne's voice that makes me want to slap that stupid grin off his face...

Yeah, I see what you mean. The band went from artsy to poppy. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing - David Byrne sure sounded like he was having a blast recording Little Creatures.

This album marked the Heads transition from being brilliant rock/funk/world musical innovators (before Creatures) to being just a pretty good band. Most bands could be happy with Little Creatures, but kind of sub-par considering what these guys are capable of. Shoulda kept that Adrian Belew, Steve Scales, Bernie Worrell lineup together forever.

I imagine they are a big source of your large # of 1 ratings? Given that is your most common rating, perhaps you've got the wrong channel? Sadly, tho, given that you seem to have polarized preferences with no middle ratings, I doubt that any station will suit you.

What is it with Radio Paradise and Talking Heads. I have to disconnect every time this band comes on cause it is just painful to listen t; which is way too often cause you play them way too much. This is my only complaint against the station as a long time listener, but it is a big one!

Ahhhhhhhhhh... first Michael Hedges, and *now* one of the Original "Alternative Music" bands!!! Back in the 80's, in the Boston area, you could say; "I listen to WFNX." and that spoke alot about who you were... I'm sure there are similar stations around the country... but "Alt Music" really used to be "different".... sigh. Great song, ground breaking band, ha ha ha ha ha- my five year old twins are now clapping and stamping and going "La-la-la-laaaa-la!" Hahahahahahahahaaaaa.... Jesus, I'm getting old.... ;)

This album turned out to be critical in my musical education. Before it came out, I have to admit, I just didn't "get" the TH. I was too conditioned to "classic"-style rock. With this album, I finally was keyed into what these guys were doing. It opened up the whole rest of their catalogue for me (Fear of Music is probably my fav TH album)...
