Together. As if in silent prayer.
And whenever I looked out, you were there.
Love flowed from our hearts.
How could we ever,
Stand to be apart?

Don't throw your faith in others away,
Because we have ended this way.
Don't ever think I don't care about you,
What you've always know is true.

It always seems sad, things have to change.
Like our feelings, let's not look for blame.
Don't throw your faith in others away,
Because we have ended this way.
Don't ever think I don't care about you,
What you've always known is true.

After all is said and done, I am the sorry one.
Why must we hurt the people we love?
It's like my destiny falls on me from above.

I love you but I can't hang on anymore.
I love you but I can't stay anymore.

I've always thought of it as a stairway to heaven.
Super song. Thanks a lot RP.

RP is getting harder to listen to as all-day background music.

Wait a sec, I think that was nathanso's point: the music is too engaging to be elevator music.

I keep RP on "in the background", but often have to stop what I'm doing to revel in a song. Not complaining.
The band: "Hmm, let's use some of these leftover sounds from 'From A Million Miles' and slow down the tempo just a bit."

I kid, it's a decent enough song and probably would have attracted attention if the other one didn't exist.

Based on what, being a female who's singing over a dance groove?
Nice new one, from Madonna

I like her voice but the music is basically composed on a computer (nothing technically wrong with that except that it SOUNDS like it, if you know what I mean). And then the addition of the east Asian loop is strange and seemingly disconnected. I wavered between 5 & 7 depending on what part of the song was playing. Settled it into 5-land.
I revel in this treat. One of my favorite surprises to hear occasionally on RP that reminds me how GREAT this music and this station are!

There are only two tracks from Single Gun Theory on RP, this and From a Million Miles.  Both are stellar.  8 for this one, 9 for Million Miles.

Pretty funny. The Big Beat goes on. Laswell-ish beneath the sugary vocal. Oddness achieved with the vaguely Islamic vocal interspersed.
...and if you think this is good, you'll love the Heart Throbs!

Bill did; that's why they're back-to-back.
Am I in a lift? An early 90's promo video? So confused.

Utter bilge.

  Yes, I definitely hear the resemblance.  I'm only person I know who's heard of both of these bands — I even have & still listen to One Dove's "Morning Dove White cd which I bought when it came out in the 90s.  I never knew about Single Gun Theory though until I started listening to Radio Paradise around 2002 or so.  {#Bounce}

Lovely fusion track! Love it!
Doot do do deet, doot do doo deet...

Based on the aural evidence this theory doesn't hold water.....{#Frown}
Banarama voices, which actually, I find nice, but I think it's the bass line that makes this song so appealling.

I agree with the comments and like this one, too. Interesting compositions and instrumental work - not to mention the just-different-enough-to-get-your-attention vocals.

Sounded like old Madonna to me. Got my attention enough to switch to last.fm.

This group was exceptional for thier time. Even today thier music holds its appeal.

5 points for the song, 9 points for those voices {#Drool}, average 7
I've become a Single Gun Theory convert, even though they only have two good CD's. Fun to listen to, easy on the ears.

Thanks for playing Single Gun Theory, despite there being much better tracks of theirs to choose from. Try Strawpeople (from New Zealand), if you liked this band. (click here) Come visit for more suggestions and links... (click here)
'Don't throw your faith in others away, Because we have ended this way.' this isn't about the bush-cheney axis of evil

I agree with you on both counts. Both songs use similar themes, but "From a Million Miles" does it better.

Add my vote to "sounds like One Dove"! And One Dove's CD *would* be perfect Radio Paradise fodder. I just _knew_ you fine RPers could remind me who it was these guys are channeling! Thanks for tickling my brain, music-heads.
Actually, One Dove sounds like Single Gun Theory and One Dove is doing the channeling ... SGT's first record came out in 1987, this came out in 1991, while One Dove is from 1993. One Dove probably bought the album and were inspired to create something "original" although I do think they sound more like Saint Etienne than these guys

There's something completely wrong with a handle such as yours expressing satisfaction about a group called Single Gun Theory. can't quite put my finger on it? awww gAWd I kill me

I'm a big fan of One Dove and is the first thing I thought of after hearing this. RP has one (click here) of their songs, but never played as of now. Bill care to give it a try?
Juxtaposing native(don't have a better word) voices was very "in" at the time. Think Rainforest.
very banannarama

One Dove friggin' rocks. It took me forever to track down their album. Listen to Dot Allison solo! Jaqui Hunt from SGT sings on Delerium albums a lot.
Love this song, it reminds me of living in NY in the late 80's. Ahhh, thanks for the trip down memory lane.
I think it sounds like Tanita Tikaram (sp?)...can't remember the name of the song, but it's very similar. This is good. Would like to hear more SGT.

Reminiscent of the Tom Tom Club - thought it might be a remix.
