(I'm over you, I'm over you)
(I'm over you, I'm over you)

I join the queue on your answer phone
And all I am is holding breath
Just pick up, I know you're there
Can't you hear? I'm not myself
Oh, go ahead and lie to me
You could say anything
Small talk will be just fine
Your voice is everything
We owe it to love
And it all depends on you

So listen up, this sun hasn't set
I refuse to believe that it's only me feeling
Just hear me out; I'm not over you yet
It's love on the line, can you handle it?

So how do I do normal?
The smile I fake, the permanent wave
Of cue cards and fix-it kits
Can't you tell? I'm not myself
I'm a slow motion accident
Lost in coffee rings and fingerprints
I don't wanna feel anything but I do
And it all comes back to you

So listen up, this sun hasn't set
I refuse to believe that it's only me feeling
Just hear me out; I'm not over you yet
It's love on the line, can you handle it?
So listen up, you've got me strained
Just hear me out, don't make me wait
I'm not myself, I can't take this
Love's on the line, is that your final answer?

I join the queue on your answer phone
And all I am is holding breath
Just pick up, I know you're there

So listen up, this sun hasn't set
I refuse to believe that it's only me feeling
Just hear me out; I'm not over you yet
It's love on the line, can you handle it?

So listen up, this sun hasn't set
I refuse to believe that it's only me feeling
Just hear me out; I'm not over you
It's love on the line, can you handle it?

So listen up, this sun hasn't set
I refuse to believe that it's only me feeling
Just hear me out I'm not over you yet
It's love on the line

Hey all you haters, it's pretty catchy and Imogen is very beautiful

This is Imogen. Her first band.

You write something, record it and then you might have some room to brag.

Otherwise...

Except there's no auto tune on this song.

Heard a few things from this artist and find it nice and catchy.  No effort needed to enjoy, which is valuable sometimes.
Does she have a bad case of asthma or is it that oh-so "breathless" voice du jour?! (Yuch. No, really.)
Thought she was Imogen Heap.  Not a bad thing.  But really?

godess... need...
Is that Sufjan Stevens?

I like the song, but unique? Every other female artist these days has a similar style.

I'm torn on this one.  Compelling rhythm.

Vocals sound like those of a 'girl band' with a sound targeted at 11 to 15 year old girls.

kind of like taco bell, no real food.......

"breathy" yes, who cares?  10.

Makes me want to float,

For a panic-strewn second I thought it was Sufjan Stevens, who must never find voice through any speakers I own.
Ear Candy.
unique artist with a voice that shimmers
i hear a touch of Alanis Morrisette...not a bad thing

Either she or the other half of Frou Frou is using a harmonizer as an effect on this track. Certainly not autotuning because she can't sing.
Imogen's an amazing singer. Check her other tracks- on this or her solo albums. Also- she got a grammy for solo-producing her own album last year. She knows the sound she wants and how to get it.

I know what you mean.  I didn't know she was in this group.  This is why I listen to RP.

So breathy and seductive.

I think for another comparison listen to "Deep Blue Day" and then Madrugada's "The Lost Gospel" which is frequently played here.  They have the same guitars almost.  I read recently that Deep Blue Day is Eno's take on Country Music.  This had never occurred to me before, but it makes sense now.

BTW, I do have a lot of time on my hands at the momemt.

Deep Blue Day is one of my Eno favorites and, yes, you can definitely say that's Eno's "homage" to country music inasmuch as that's the only Eno composition I'm aware of where the pedal steel is used and the country-like chord structures are present.  At around 1:20 in you can start to pick up the "country" vibe and then at around 2:10 the chord changes and pedal steel really come alive.

And I hope you've found something to do by now...  Wink
Give it credit, it's nice

Listen to the background strings/synth starting at about 2:15 . It's a takeoff / ripoff of Brian Eno's An Ending (Ascent) at about 1:09 in from the Apollo album. Whaddya think? (I know, I appear to have some time on my hands ;^) )

Hmmm, I have listened to this song and especially Apollo many times, I did not notice it before.  I did just hear what you mean, not sure though, that was pretty brief.

Wow.  First time hearing this - instant 9.  It's so powerful, and her vocals are chillingly good. {#Sunny}
Wikipedia answers the Eno drama queens:

"The track "An Ending (Ascent)" was sampled in the song "Hear Me Out" by the group Frou Frou, and has been used in several films, such as Traffic and 28 Days Later"

I was just thinking that! Wonder if it's a sample?

Yeah... I was about to grab my Eno album but checked the comments first... Pretty blatant snag of a classic Eno tune... I like Frou Frou though. :)

Oh no! The dreaded Catch-In-The-Voice!!!!!
LOL

Wow, she also sings on this Jeff Beck song: (click here) Cool. Neil
Ahh, I thought that sounded like Imogen Heap!
Hm, this is one of the better Frou Frou songs, IMHO.
Isnt this "a tisket a tasket a blue and yellow basket"?
This sucks. Anyone could write this. Don't play this again.
Why is Mick Jagger singing for these guys?
snore, snore
More breathy intonating pseudo-anguish for little girls.
thought it was a little "Cranberryish" at first - got more distinctive with time (maybe a touch of Sia as well). Not bad...

Hatchet job on a great Eno track...
That feeling of someone who was there for you during hard times. Thanks for quing her, sure made me feel better now

exactly! sometimes she sounds just like him.
Reminds me of Natalie Merchant... nice voice, but the song itself is a bit boring.
Bryans song
she should colaborate with billy corgan.
Alex love Frou Frou :)
simplistic lyrics, but good otherwise. :)
Pretty likeable, like alot of Frou Frou's (Imogen) work.
Hmm. Take out the Brian Eno and you've got a very forgettable song. Way to go Frou Frou.
i just saw that i hadn't yet commented on how much i LOVE this song...it goes right there, you know the place where words strike true with you at the moment, and leave a mark on you forever.
great voice - I've heard her before, maybe on Delerium. Love it.
Wow That song just left me wanting more. Something about the beat just worked for me. I will be sampling the other songs off eyeToons and at least buying that one.
This is the first time I've heard this song and I'm doing a slow sexy dance in my chair.
Yes, what else is there to say. Take a cold shower if necessary.
There are only two songs ("Shh" and "Psychobabble") in "Details" that I could say I don't like. The rest rate from very nice (this one) to awesome ("Flicks"). As another RPlander said, "Frou Frou makes me happy"
Nice, but not more than that. A 7.
One of my faves from the album.

Nuh uh, I saw her first. ;-) Nice to hear something other than "Let Go". Not that I'm complaining, but damn, if I don't enjoy this band.
I normally hate the manufactured, souless electronica of this Euro-pop kind of genre. But man something about Frou Frou does it for me. Great record, great song.
questions answered.. https://www.imogenheap.co.uk/
I'm pining for Brian Eno and his soundtrack from the Apollo 13 documentary that's so damn good & spacey (anyone else hear it in the background?). It's so good on its own that I find Frou Frou distracting.
fantastic -- is this a harbinger of a new Frou Frou album?
Nice voice !!!
