Too funny! I just came in to say how much this song makes me think of Rainbow Connection by Kermit. I see I'm not the only one to hear that!

Are you on dope? Do you live in a van...down by the river? Sounds nothing like CSNY.

I wish it would.

Kermit?
Perfect follow up to cracker...Bill should jumble some songs sometimes.

Three cords,bad singing and a dumb name= a 3...
Giving this tripe a 3 is being very generous.
Like it a 7 easy!
Perfect follow up to Cracker. I didn't know crackers made good bait.

Nailed it. (And the voice, so earnest!) Maybe it's the fish that's singing.

Reminds me of Squatting Monks.
\"Out into the empty\" seems totally sentimental with the contempary USA culture. I say excellent artistic endeavor.
What a truly uninspiring song.
Repetitive but superb!

Oh yes! Thank heavens it wasn't only me!
Sounds like Richie Sterns from the Horseflies. Another realy good band.

I'm liking the fiddle and accordian (?) in the background. Kinda sweet.
I'm thinkin CSNY.

Was that a band name from Dave Barry?

This guy sounds a bit like he is imitating the vocal style of Adam Duritz (Counting Crows) esp. on the higher notes
I'm getting that Counting Crows vibe too. Kinda like it. Love the band name.
sounds a bit like Neutral Milk Hotel
Sounds like Frank Black - a bit like "Burn Today"
I don't understand how some of this stuff gets on the play list. Well, it just makes you appreciate the good music better. I suppose this isn't complete without merit though...

his voice sounds more like Fisher Z to me... Quite bearable song though...

> Yeah, I was heading for the mute button thinking it was Counting Crows, but then I noticed it wasn't quite as irritating as CC and let it play.
love this album, very trippy tunes - great late night music!
Oh, Kermie....
this song reminds me a piece by tom petty & the heart breakers, but i can't figure out at this moment.
Reminds me of REM, in a good way.

Cool! As soon as I heard the voice I thought of the Horsflies' "I Need a Plastic Bag to Keep My Brains In" and "Time is Burning." Glad to see these guys are still playing, even within the context of a different band. Two thumbs up!
The Horseflies I uploaded were shot down A little too weird, I guess.

It isn't bad, except for a few very repetitive lines that just end up grating and boring after the 20th time... so... yeah.
Sounds like Clem Snide. I like it.

hahahahaha... hey Bill, a great follow-up would be Kermit's rendition of The Rainbow Connection
never heard of these guys before, awesome song, what are some other good ones from them?
I keep hearing this here, and I really like it, but every time I hear it I can't decide who this sounds like to me. Is it more Adam Duritz from The Counting Crows or Sean whoever the lead singer of the Samples? Really good stuff though, would like to hear more.
I think this is a beautiful song. It stops me in my tracks every time it comes on.
Right song at the right time Still remember the day a year ago. SHould be like LOL or sad. Anyway "Out into the empty"

These guys are pretty neat. If anyone remembers the Horseflies (1980's-ish-trance-folk-oldtime-electrified-stringband types), from Ithaca, this is mostly the same folks, in a new band.

I'd have been surprised by anyone else but you knowing Giant Sand, Scott. :-) Likeable tune...we need more of this around here.

Nice and very interesting, unique stylish song.

I'm not very intrigued.
Vocal style owes a lot to Kermit the Frog.
