Yes, that is right. I have actually commented previously that the song was referred to the 'dissapeared' (especially Argentina and other South American countries) but somebody pointed out to me that Manu was actually talking the case of an illegal immigrant to Spain. I think that his remark makes perfect sense. Now, you are right and your comment about voluntarily of forcefully dissapearing is quite insightful. I guess you can say that there more than simply dictatorial governments acting now and producing new dissapeared people... I don't know, just musing...

This song generally speaks about having to leave your homeland to go work on a strage country. And he shows the case of this guy who had to leave Africa to go to work in Spain ilegally, and how he must change his identity and manages to disappear from immigration law enforcement, thus, "desaparecido".
