Heather, I see you have a new album out. I'm very disappointed to see "Gloomy Sunday" was not included on the playlist. Perhaps you think you can move on to new pastures and fresh ideas after laying this turd on the ground behind you, but I still smell the turd. A 20 mile urban (mountain bike ride in the city) all through Boston - North End, Beacon Hill, wharfs, financial district, Boston Common, Esplanade, etc. Sweet.

Yeah. Sarah makes it sound like it's 'supposed to', if that's possible. Either way, Heather's is funky, and it doesn't work with the song. That said, on it's own merits, it sounds cool.

I knew this wasn't the Sinead O'Connor version, which she did on the cover album Am I Not Your Girl. When I went to look up the original recording, I found a listing of 11 recordings of it, but not the one of Sinead. Wonder why... This version is interesting. Next I'll need to listen to the Billie Holiday recording.

I've been listening to a lot of different versions of this song off Rhapsody. Many of the ones that have been listed here. I have to say, this version is one of my favorites. Moreso after hearing the others. I won't even consider comparing it to Billie Holiday, but I think this version does well on Heather.

mediocre cover, feeble. The last verse is not original to the song,(to answer the hungarian a few posts back) Billie had to add them in order to lift the ban on this song. At the time of it's original realese people were leaping out of windows at an alarming rate.

I love the strings in this song. I'm not sure if I've heard Sarah's version or any other version for that matter. Being that this is probably my first listen of this song I'd have to rate it pretty high. Enjoying the music and the flow of her voice, hauntingly beautiful... I'll have to keep my eye out for other versions though to compare it.

I like this - but I love Sarah McLachlan's version. I think another poster said it best - there's too much going on here. If the original had been anything like this, it never would have gotten it's dark reputation as the suicide's song of choice.
